In case anyone is interested, 12/15-12/17, compusa is expected to have PNY 256 pc2100 for 39.99 with no rebate (or other) BS involved.

This deal I posted in another thread, but I though it was worthy of it's own thread. This sunday COMPUSA is going to have 256mb PNY ddr on sale for $39.99, no rebates item # 289575. Buy the ram now at OfficeDepot for $69.99 after a $20 rebate, and then pricematch on Sunday. Voila, $19.99 ram.....props to the other posters who listed the COMPUSA upcoming special!

I've never pricematched before, so let me make sure I do this right. I would go to OfficeDepot and buy the RAM now for 89.99, then bring the CompUSA flyer back to OfficeDepot on Sunday, and they should give me back $50, plus I still have the $20 rebate?

I dont know if that works...when you pricematch you get a new receipt. And rebates say the receipt has to be postmarked between specified dates. ANd the day one would pricmatch would certainly be after those dates.

Almost all rebates say they need a COPY (not original) of your sales receipt. Make a copy of your receipt BEFORE going back to OD for the pricematch. Use this copy for your rebate submission.

There are two 256MB PC2100 in Compusa:

The first one is the regular PNY memory, model#PYT D256M6421OPT, which is selling in CC for $109.99.
The 2nd one looks like made by PNY but for Compusa only, I think it will be this RAM on sale for $39.99, and I don't think CC or any other company will price match it with the regular PNY memory.

Hope I'm wrong. I'll also take look tomorrow.

Best buy will price match. You just have to get lucky and find one where the people are not a total waste of human flesh.

Since when didn't Best Buy PM? I just price matched a PS2 Memory card from CompUSA the other day. The other thing is that they didnt give me a regular reciept and they made me fill out a form. So I don't know why this wouldnt work? I guess I just found one of those waste of human flesh...

CompUSA ad is up @ Compusa.com. PDF format ad shows 256MB 2100 DDR Optima RAM 289575 $39.99, BUT HTML version of weekly ad shows price as $79.99! Better get those price matches in early! OD opens @ 10 AM, I think CompUSA doesn't open until 11 AM. Grab the newspaper ad and make an early stop @ OD!
