the prices of DDR ram just went up starting saturday... but at $30 it is still good compared to the price before the increase. Rebates are just a hassle

This link appears to be the product in question, although here it has a different model # than what is shown on the printed ad. However, this page shows the correct price reduction and rebate, and also shows as "in stock" and available for store or online purchase.

The rebate form is for PNY 128M ddr - $20. I think they will have a correct rebate later, so I just go ahead order one.

Cheapest 256 meg PC2100 on pricewatch is $52.95 for generic 'who knows what' chips. Bestbuy for me was $52.49 after tax with a good possibility of $20 back and Samsung chips. I'd say this is a pretty hot deal.

they only have pny 256mb for pc100 or pc133, but none for pc 2100

In my experience, PNY has been very good. This may not be the most stable chip for overclocking, but PNY has come a long way since the old days and their chips seem to be very reliable. I usually by Crucial, but at this price I can't pass it up. I believe they have a lifetime warranty as well. $30 after rebate for decent name brand memory is a great deal right now. If you need cheap decent memory, and don't mind the rebate, jump on this one. They won't last long at this price.
