Hey everyone can you post the numbers on your ram sticks.
I just got samsung but the numbers are k4h560838c-TCA0
According the samsung link i provided above this is a ddr 200 stick of RAM ??
Mine is K4H560838B-TCB0
According to the SamSung website B0 denotes 133Mhz and A0 is 100Mhz so maybe some of you guys' are actually DDR200 instead of 266??
Anyone know the difference between revision B (3rd gen) and C (4th gen)?

By the way, I also buy the Mag 19" Monitor for $149 before $50 rebate. I think it was a lucky trip.
FYI, price of the DDR is going up, FOB Taiwan a 256DDR cost about $58 last week, I think the memory will keep going up this week.

I went to the pasedena one too! I got the VERY LAST one!

Has anyone found a rebate form that matches the SKU or model number? This is a good deal for $30 but if the rebate form doesn't work I am sending it right back to BB.

According to samsung the A0 is 10ns not a 8ns part.

Edit: Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the speeds correspond to the frequencies at CL=2.5, i.e.:

Rebate form. SKU# is 4596011 w/c matches my receipt. Hopefully the $20 rebate comes in a timely manner.

Add shows that it's supposed to be a PC2100 (266 Mhz) DDR. If I remember correctly 200 Mhz DDR are PC1600?? .
So why are some people getting TCB0 and some TCA0????

K4H560838C-TCA0 = 200 MHz DDR

K4H560838B-TCB0 = 266 Mhz DDR

I just went and got one of these today and I also got an A0 chip. I have to go back tomorrow anyways, so should I return it and try to get a B0 chip if they have any in stock? The package says PC2100, but Samsung says it's PC1600 so I don't know what I should do. I plan on getting a 1.6a and overclocking it to 2.1ghz (hopefully) and normally pc2100 memory would be fine, but if this memory is really pc1600 I don't want it to hold me back.

Any advice from you good folk as to what I should do?

I was at Circuit City and they had the same board for 55-20 rebate. I guess I could pm. The advantage at CC over BB is that the CC one was samsung K4H560838B-TCB0, while the BB was elixir. The cc board also had a cd with 'system mechanic' that came in the package.

Cougar,
The one I bought from BB yesterday had Elixir chips on and I noticed CompUSA in my town had RAM w/ Infineon on so you can either
1) Go back to BB (assuming that's where you got it) and see if you can find one w/ Samsung B0 or Infineon chips (that's what I did) or
2) Buy one from CompUSA and return the one w/ Samsung A0 chips since both have the same model number it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I got it from Best Buy. There seemed to be about 8 - 10 chips left in stock at around 6:00p.m. so hopefully most of them will still be there when I go back tomorrow. If I would have known which part number to look for I would have been able to save myself this hassle, but it's too late now. I just hope they have some B0 chips or else I'm going to feel like a total fool asking them to take out all their memory packages for nothing.

By the way, if they have infineon then what part number should I be looking for?

I hope someone reads this by tomorrow morning...

IMHO PNY SDRAM memory is the most overclockable memory. I have a couple of sticks in my Tualatin Celery rig that run at a FSB speed of 152MHz @CAS2 and all the other timing settings maxed out for performance. I just got the last DDR stick my local BB had and it is made with Samsung chips, good overclockers...

Is it possible to tell the part number without opening it and actually looking at the ram? I don't think I'll bother if I can't tell what I'm getting...

Yes, the back side of the plastic case is clear so you can see the chips and if it has the "Samsung" gold scribe in very small letters at the bottom of the PCB.

Hey Cougar....I think if you got a infineon chip make sure the last digit in the middle line on the chip is 7...that means it's 7ns....which I think can do 133mhz at CAS 2......but smaller the number the better that's for sure.....

just found a link to infineon's website.....check it out....it will tell you everything you need to know(hmmm, I think it's everything they want you to know, not you need to know)......the one i got is the HYB25D256400AT-7, which according to the datasheet can do either 133mhz at CAS 2 or 143mhz at CAS 2.5......

Cool, thanks for the link. From the looks of it you're right, anything that ends with -7 appears to be ddr266 (and anything that ends with -6 appears to be ddr333). We'll see what they have left in stock when I go back in the morning. Heck, maybe I'll get really lucky and they'll have some -6 Infineon memory.

What's the best way of getting 7 of these? I'm building computers for my dad's office. Should I go with just cash, and ask teh cashier to ring each up seperatly? then should i have each employe fill out each rebate form instead? I need some 'cheap' ram, as we are on a budget. thanks

Rebates don't work for multiple names to the same address. Unless you have the employees use their home addresses, in which case it becomes a non-taxable employee bonus.

Hrm. I just bought 7 of them. 49.99 even without the rebate si a great price considering the price of ram is going up (I was looking at around 70 for the same thing).

Only problem is that all of mien are the samsung with A0 at the end. Samsung's page shows it as DDR200. HMM. The box clearly states PC2100, and so does the receipts. That won't be a problem, I will just take it back and ask for the product I payed for or soemthing.

Can anyone confirm that it's seen as running at 133Mhz in software? I'd rather not go back to get a different module if I don't have to, and I don't have my new motherboard to test the one I got (TCA0) out on yet.

If software is seeing it as a 133Mhz chip, maybe the label's a misprint.
