I have the Korean Yamakasi Catleap Q270 MULTI and it has OSD on it plus 3 inputs, speakers, and no lag I can detect. Im actually doing better in games with this monitor then my last one.

The catleap multi is almost the same price as the Auria, isn't it?

About $20 cheaper, however it is missing display port and with the industry slowly moving to displayport I would want my next monitor to have it.

as for the Auria splash, that only shows up when powering on the monitor. if you just wake it up from sleep it doesnt pop up and blind you. and its not 5 seconds. maybe 3, not that it really matters. still uber bright in the dark.
Thanks. That's actually acceptable. I never completely power down my monitors by power buttons. As long as there is no blinding splash screen when monitors wake up from sleep I'm good. BTW, out of curiosity how long does it take to wake up from sleep?

I know nothing about this new(?) USA based company, but they are going to be offering 27" 120hz S-IPS 1440p in October I believe. September for the 60hz models. Apparently they're supposed to be higher grade panels than the Korean casinos offer. Literally "Pixel Perfect" A grade LG.

Don't know if/how they're connected to any those Korean ebay ones. But at least they're in the US so all communication and problem solving would be much easier.

However, no price announced but pics are there.
Yes, and pics are showing essentially Microcenter monitor. I think those guys are taking Microcenter monitor, or whoever actually makes it and putting in different logic boards.

The Overlord site's monitor pics look just like my PCBANK monitor.

The most logical explaination is that the different USA brands are sourcing similar bezels or parts for manufacturing/assembly = allows them to bring these WQHDmonitors at lower costs instead of custom making their own molds/parts... claiming they are all Microcenter monitors with a slapped brand logo on their bezel is not necessarily true... they may be using the same bezel/LG Panel; but their panel grades may be different, PCB, stand, etc may all be different... Unless we all want to pay high prices again or order from Ebay Korea - hopefully this is a start of a nice trend at least in terms of prices... since now most newer GPUs can push 2560x1440

anyone else have problems with the monitor just shutting off? its done it to me twice in the week ive had it. just did it after quitting a round of BF3. completely loses power. power button wont turn it back on. last time it happened i was just surfing the web listening to music. i ended up unplugging the power brick and plugging it back it and it came back. this time it took two tries of unplugging it to get it back on. the brick is a quite warm but doesnt seem unusually hot.. almost seems like a breaker is tripping or something. not sure what the deal is. i may have to take it back.

Can you keep us updated, I'm very interested in how things turn out.

Also, maybe pay extra attention to what is going on, maybe you can spot some kind of pattern to when it happens, maybe when the air conditioning is cycled off and it gets just extra warm for a bit before the AC turns back on or something weird?

it did it a third time sunday morning. i was just surfing the internet and poof, it goes off. this time i left it alone, went and took a shower, came back 25 minutes later and it still wouldnt power on. i unplugged it and plugged it back in, no go. i pulled the monitor out and unplugged the power cord from the brick and waited for the green light to go out. that thing keeps a charge for a bit it seems. plugged it back in and it worked again. i decided that after 3 times i had enough and took it back to microcenter. they had no problems exchanging it. sales guy knew what these were and offered to hook the new one up first to check for dead pixels. again, didnt have any. i used it for several hours yesterday without issue. the power/menu buttons on this one are much easier to press (less stiff) and i think the ips glow is a little less pronounced as well. we'll see how this week goes.

Went to Microcenter yesterday. They had about 6 on the floor and one on display hooked up to a computer running at native res. The bezel was not pretty, but not as ugly as I was afraid, to be honest it was hard to pay attention to the bezel when the screen itself was so beautiful. No anti-glare coating made it look so much better than the other monitors. I have had plenty of monitors all of them with various anti-glare, and they all look hazy in comparison, the picture on Auria looked so much clearer. Even the smaller dot pitch was not a problem as I was afraid, with no anti-glare coating there is nothing to degrade the picture quality.

I was already thinking of replacing my monitors for a number of reasons, so I caved in and bought two. The only problem is I cannot hook them up yet since monoprice monitor arms haven't arrived yet... :\

I got to visit a MC last week and they had a display out, but none in stock. It looked really excellent, I got to play around with it for awhile and it looked good on graphics and text. I was kind of glad the they had none in stock, I would probably have bought one that I did not need.
