The coupon IS NOT bogus.

Think about this for a minute: OD uses a centralized system. If OD determined that a bogus coupon was being circulated, it would take them all of 10 seconds to put an entry into their system that would render coupon code 6160 invalid at every register in every store.

The mere fact that the cashier hits the COUPON key and types in 6160 and the register automatically takes off $20.00 proves that the coupon is valid. How long do you think OD would allow thousands of fake $20 discounts to go on?

I scored big time with my two sticks of DDR and a $34 profit. I wish the best for the rest of you.

Anyone willing to help me out with a scan of the UPC code? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

yes! I called the store, and went back to get my $20 from the coupon. The coupon is good. They just enter the code. It just wasnt my luck yesterday because of the @ss%% CSRs. both instore and phone. Anyways, i have to used the copy of the old receipt for my rebate as they made the new transaction for today. hope that would work.

Anyways, if I had time, i would have made them PM bestbuy price and make more profit out of this deal (assuming i will get this 65$ rebate) Thanks all for the tips.

Mine shows as qualifed. What price did you pay for the DDR? I paid the full $64.99 at OD.com and used $10/$50 online coupon

Did you call or contact the rebate center yet? If so, which is the reason why your rebate submission was denied?

I got my stick of DDR memory for the web PM price of $64.99 and then used the $20 off $50 in-store coupon for a total of $44.99 plus tax ($49.xx). I haven't submitted my rebate yet. I haven't even cut the UPC from the package yet. I was sort of waiting to see if people would get approved before I sent mine in, so I'd really be interested in knowing the particulars of your deal.

I bought three of these.
Two were purchased at B&M's, rebates sent in right away. One under my dad's name, one under my brother's. Both already show as qualified on the express group website. Sent with copy of receipt, copy of entire front of memory package (which includes upc), and original rebate form printed at cash register. Used $20 off $50 on both.

The third was bought from OD.com and arrived late friday. I will be sending this one off under my name today. Used $15 off $50 online coupon for this purchase. Total on all three: I will be paid about $46.:Q

Wow.. There were a couple of ways to play this rebate and I hope I didn't make a wrong move. If I would've sent it in right away, I'd be taking a chance that I wouldn't get the rebate because they are paying us after the rebate. If I waited, odds are that I will find out if others were getting the rebate, so I could return the RAM if the rebates were failing because I didn't feel like paying $49.xx for each stick after taxes.

I just wonder if OD/Express Group honored some of the early rebates and then decided not to honor the later ones? I'll be more than interested to find out the reason why Tigerbait's rebate submission was denied. Please let us know as soon as you find out yourself.

My friends and I did the PM and coupon, paying $44.99 + tax. Our status shows qualified on the rebate page. When did you send in the rebate? I sent mine in on the 2nd or 3rd day of the deal.

I guess the email did the trick.

Express Group is so shady. The probably deny half of the submissions just hoping the people forget about the rebates. :|

Tigerbait. This sounds like the VisionTek/BB $50 T-Giving rebate. I patiently watched for two months as my MIR was in the "processing" stage. I finally called them because I was tired of waiting and they said they would mail it that day. What would've happened if I would've never called?

It does sound like these rebate companies are trying to do everything to keep you from doing the rebate. Have you ever noticed how these companies disquise the rebate checks as junk mail? I almost threw out a couple of rebate checks because of this.

Anyway.. Glad you got it approved. You give me hope for if I get denied. I can always call or email them and ask them why it's not valid.

BTW.. What reason did they give you for the rebate not being valid? Did they give you a reason or just validate your MIR without telling you why?

I was in the same boat as tigerbait, my OD rebate was rejected for the DDR. I called them up 10:30 AM Calif. time and after the usual "on hold boogie" I got a live person. She asked for the address I sent to, my name and zip code and said to wait a minute. She then told me all was well as someone entered my UPC code wrong so now I show as "Accepted". Thats for both the chair and the ram now. Don't let these people slip away with your cash, gotta stay on them. I also emailed and they confirmed Accepted also. I guess I will call after a reasonable time as well as email. Rebate chasing is getting harder, anyone else think so too?

this is all they said

"Reject for the following reasons:

provided does not match offer.
Description: PNY 256MB DDR $65 8/28-9/1/02"

i.e. We rejected your rebate for no reason hoping you wouldn't find out.

Hi all. Have all of your rebates seem to look like post cards now? They don't even place them in envelopes anymore...

Yeah.. They look just like those post cards that I get every week with the missing children on them. I really have to be careful with my junk mail these days so I don't accidentally throw out a rebate check.

I received two of my $65 rebates today.

I haven't received the third one yet, but it is approved & should be mailed any day now.

I love it when I get paid to "buy" good products.
