256MB PC133 CAS2 sdram for $105 + $4.85s/h = $109.85

I was thinking of getting there 128M memory. Its only $51.00 and if I get two sticks makes it easy to split it out later when get new computers. Has anyone used this before, if so what is the max they do get out of it?

One thing that really intrigues me about this ram, is that it's 7ns, and I haven't seen much 7ns ram out there especially for a price like this. If it's any good at all, it could turn out to be a great deal, so i'll let you know when i get mine how it goes, mkay?

Well, I just received my dimm. These suckers really put the "G" in generic. There are absolutely no manufacturer markings on the chips. I've never seen chips this bare. The only writing on the chips is at the bottom of each in small print: "16MX8 SDRAM--8--1" There's a sticker on one chip marked "PC133, 256MB." And that's it boys and girls -- no other markings.

Well, I guess it don't have to look good to run good. We'll see how high this stuff goes tomorrow. I'll post some results. I've got some Crucial Cas2 laying around for comparison purposes.

I was skeptical after receiving this stuff and really didn't believe it would live up to the cheesy ad on the webpage. However, I popped the dimm in and booted right into windows at 142 mhz, CAS2 (I haven't pushed it any higher, yet.) Stable as a rock so far. If Crucial hadn't dropped within 4 bucks of this stuff, it would be a pretty good deal.

Man I asked for this two weeks ago and got no answer. Finally broke down and bought three sticks(for free shipping on 3+ items) a couple of days ago. Well I'll post results when i get it.


Just so you know, they told me by email(veryprompt) thats the fastest 7ns ram would work on everything
except maybe the kt7-raid and other raid boards. They recommened i get the kingmax stuff if i had raid.


But it looks like some one here has running raid+ram fine, so just take it as a word of caution.

I got my ram in from premier systems, it's decent enough so far. no names on the chips was kinda fishy, but sandra says they're mitsubishi chips rated 133@cas3. However, i have mine running at 150@cas2, so maybe sandra's wrong . alltogether, good experience with premier

This is made by unknown company using unknown pcb with Mircon chips and being sold by a low reseller rating small mail order company who'll provide lifetime warranty (do you think they'll be forever?)
This is definitely no way to be compared to Crucial.

To each his (or her) own. At the time this thread was posted, the ram in question was considerably cheaper than crucial and worth consideration by people on this forum looking for cheap ram. I agree that crucial is now a "better buy" as it is within 10 bucks of this stuff. I posted as much back when this thread was new.

Still, the fact remains that this "generic" ram is priced lower than crucial, albeit not by much, and my experience (and apparently others) is that it runs stable at cas2 -- up to at least 144mhz in my case (I haven't tried it any higher) and apparently up to 150mhz in FRB's case. Some folks may value a $5 or $10 savings over name brand piece of mind, especially if buying in bulk. Personally, I would pay $10 more for crucial, but as for others...
