256MB PC133 SDRAM
Generic PC-133 SDRAM For $117.99, this has got to be one of the best deals I have ever seen on SDRAM. There is a list of compatible motherboards too, so you know whether or not it will work for your board. ENJOY!!!!

I bought this a few weeks ago for $179.
Forget about CAS 2 as shown in the spec.
However for $118 you can't go wrong.

There are a lot of limitations on this memory. You better read them before ordering. It seems to work only with certain chipsets and only if you don't have certain cards in your system like Diamond MX300 sound.

Seesh, these people are picky? Why would they say that the MX300 doesn't work in an A7V? It works fine in mines (i had to disable DOS emulation to stop it from conflicting with my DSL modem, but other than that it works fine). And besides, what does memory have to do with what soundcard you can or can't use? Sound like a lot of BS to me...

I don't know why all that stuff was added to the bottom regarding the A7V. All that matters is the RAM is cheap, for those who just want cheap RAM, and it works.

its not cheap if it doesn't work. and of course other cards matter, everything is tied together in a computer.

<< Incompatible Chipset: Intel 430 VX, TX, 440 LX, BX, i810, i815, i820 Chipsets. >>

whoa WTF?? Not compatible with BX boards, the most popular pentium II and III boards on the planet?? This ram sounds like crap, why would anyone make ram not compatible with BX boards????

i'm very skeptical

I'm using this ram with an MX300 in my Abit KA7 and its working fine with the exception of Dos emulation, but that never worked even without this ram.

Oh whoops never mind that, didnt see that it that it had to be used in conjuction with the A7V for it to be supposedly incompatible.

It's now down to 114.99

Has anyone used it with their Asus p3v4x mobo? I know it says that it's compatible but I'm wondering about the rest of their setup (GF 2, soundblaster, etc...)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to jump on such an incredible, and unreal deal, but normally such deals have a catch or so.

Cheers

256mb dimms are incompatible with the bx thats why, the chips internal addressing cant be seen unless its a registered dimm. this should work on the apollo 133/133a, the kt133, km133 , i810e, i815e.

works perfectly fine on my Asus p3v4x MB. sadly I bought this memory LONG ago when it was still $200+ (and that was cheap).

Setup also has a MX300 (always ahs worked fine)...

Ignorance is bliss.

Is this compatible with the BP6? I can't see that anywhere? I bought some of the cheap RAM awhile back and it has worked great. I assume this is the same stuff.

Thanks

No it does not work with the BP6. THe BP6 is a intel chipset... I even tried it for sh!ts and giggles and it doesn't.

It will "work" but only register as 128MBs.

There's been a MILLION posts on this EXACT RAM on anantech.
So a search for "jcshopper" and you should see a ton of hits.

Thanks for the reply and comforting words Homerboy.

I think I will order a *few*

One day, I'm sure we'll need 4 GB of RAM. We can be sure of that!

This is such a great price I don't want to pass it up but, personally I don't buy any memory without lifetime warranties. 2 years is not a very good waranty but I guess you get what you pay for.

What is the SyncMax warranty and return policy?

Answer: "SyncMax memory modules carry a warranty for two (2)years from date of purchase. If for some reason the SyncMax module is found defective, all exchanges, replacements and returns must be made through the company whom you purchased the module from."

Go to FAQ: SyncMax

that's a great point fitzm. But damn at 105 for 256 mb, it's tempting

something else pointed out in this thread is that this ram is compatible with the i815e chipset, so upgrading in the future won't be a problem, at least until the P4 chipset comes out, and I'm really not sure this would be compatible with it.

I guess I'm just thinking ahead, when we all upgrade, if this RAM will be seen as 256 or 128, or worse yet, not at all

Even if it's seen as 128, at 105 dollars it's not bad.

More thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated everyone
