Its not right, X1800XL supports up to:

*2048x1536 analog
*2560 x 1600 digital

Why couldn't they offer that rebate on the All-in-Wonder x1800XL? Then it would all be perfect...

Oh well. Still, that's a really good deal for an x1800XL. Probably the best I've seen yet.

At best, its better. At worst, its about the same. I would definately buy this instead of the 7800GT if I had a choice.

Are there any benchmarks with a comparison? Looks like you can get a MSI 7800GT for the same price from NewEgg (after a $30 rebate). Why pick ATI over NVidia? Is it gaming related, or pic quality? I just need a dual-link DVI card for my Dell monitor and deciding between this or the 7800GT.

Look up some reviews Sendero, the X1800XL benches better and has better framerates in some games.

I'd really like to give ATI a shot with my next video card purchase, but the following benches favor the 7800GT for gaming.

Plus I've heard the X1800 line of cards run hot in general.

Considering the price to performance (and heat issue), I'd say the cards were equal IF the 7800GT were $270 and the X1800XL were $230.

I was a big ATI fanboy until I recently had this choice but opted to go for 7800gt for three primary reasons: 1) more stable & better drivers. 2) much less power consumption which is a blessing considered so much stuffs already loaded inside my Dell. Lastly 3) I paid much less than $289.99 for my new 7800gt

Yeah I got a 7800GT recently because of the price... bug I am so sick of Nvidia drivers already. I remember exactly why I stopped buying Nvidia cards....

I want to get this card to do a direct comparison.

went ahead and ordered it but just today got a cancellation mail due to it being out of stock. Shouda just ordered on Thurs night when I saw it. oh well. Found out there is a EVGA 6600GT that will drive the Dell 3007 and only cost $160 (I know it works b/c I'm using it right now ).
