256meg Micron PC133 $79 shipped

Z-Buy has 256meg Micron cas3 for $79 shipped FedEx. I'm running it right now.

It's linked right off the Z-Buy front page. I picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago from Z-Buy and it doesn't look the same as the Micron memory you buy directly from Crucial. However, they're claiming that the corresponding part# is MT48LC64M4A2TG but I can't seem to find that on Crucial's site. I'm wondering if I got scammed.

Do not deal with this company. I ordered the same stick of ram a couple of weeks ago and had nothing but problems. Here is the text from my post on the last tread



I just received the memory the chips are micron on a generic pcb but the stick is damaged.

I rma the memory back to those a*sholes and they are saying I damaged the memory and want me to provide proof that the memory was shipped damaged in the box (WTF)So the bottom line is they will not replace It.It's off to the reseller ratings and my CC company

Micron memory chips have the MT marking/pt.#

Crucial memory modules have a CT number instead.

This is likely Micron memory chips "on thirds".

im running 128mb micron ram right now and its perfect... able to o/c really good and did not have any problem with em yet. i think they make really good ram

Seems it would be FAR better to do the Staples PM with Crucial
A MAJOR retailer and a MAJOR memory maker.

this vendor isn't that bad. i bought a duron processor from these guys and smashed it to bits with the first thermaltake golden orb. i called them and they took it back no sweat. they aren't supposed to take it back if you damage it using non-AMD approved stuff, so they are ok in my book.

I purchased 3x256 Micron chips from z-buy...good turn around time, but 1 chip didn't work. I didn't bother to check if it was truly a Micron chip and received an RMA and sent it back. I then received this message:

The RAM you return us is made by HYUNDAI # HY57V168010C, not a MICRON # 48LC16M8A2-75B. So we are unable to do the RMA for you. Also we do not sell 256MB HYUNDAI RAM.

This RAM shall be on it way shipping back to you.

I haven't bought RAM chips in years, let alone a 256 MB chip, so there really is no way that I could have mixed this one up...

bottom line...be careful with this company. I think I'll have to go to my credit card co. and let them deal with it.
