Have a P8P67 Deluxe, i2600K, Noctua U12P SE2 and Win7 x64. Had overclocked it to 4.4 via Turbo ratio of 44, Load line calibration of Ultra High CPU voltage of 1.35. WHen I ran Linx temps on some cores were hitting 80C and had not seen any LinX results.

Clocked it back to its stock speed and LinX temps were below 60C with idle temps of 32C.

Are the temps for the 4.4Ghz too high?

"Load line calibration of Ultra High"

Jeez that's helpful.

60C aint bad, 80C is a bit too high for long-term running... try remounting the sink, I would have thought that a U12P would have kept it below 60 at stock...

Need to check google...

Edit: Try dialing back the voltage, most people here haven't needed 1.35V for 4.4GHz... more like 1.32V.

Will look that up too and get back...

What are your ambient temps?

During testing it was about 25C or so. One other thing is that the cooler is a 3 pin plug on it while the motherboard CPU connector is 4 pin. I am not using the 4th pin for the cooler but that just means the cooler is running in high fan speed all the time correct?

That seems a little high during load..

How good a Heatsink is that?

Does your case have good airflow?

Try a lower vcore

Are you using an actual thermometer or going by the furnace temperature setting?

I use a little "desktop" thermostat

Go into bios and see what the % of that particular header is. The number will be the juice the motherboard is supplying to it. And its not necessarily the top fan speed just the electricity supplied to the fan.

I am using a thermometer that is about 4 ft from the computer case.

%?

On the first page of the UEFI it is showing a RPM of 12982RPM. CPU Q-Fan Control is enabled and CPU Fan Profile is Standard.

Tried a Vcore of 1.32v and UltraHigh for Loadline calibration and the CPU temps during XLin reached 73-74C temporarily with the temps hovering around high 60s. In XLin should the number of threads be 4 or 8?

So we are on the same page, use the proper name "LinX" and I am not familiar with UEFI nor "Ultra High" for Load Line Calibration (LLC)

On an i7 920, there should be 8 threads. You should be using 8 threads if Hyper-threading is on.

The 4th pin on the motherboard header, for the fan, is for AUTOMATIC thermal control management or power control management: if you have some type of thermal dynamic controlled setting enabled. If it's disabled it will do 1 of 2 things. Run at a % of the voltage supplied to the fan (if this is an option) or run at it's max speed.
