That cnet article is total BS and has proven to be so by a large number of people who have bought it, including me, who think very highly of it and other sites who did an actual partial review. Is this a great TV? Hellllll no. If you use it mostly for HDTV, the picture is great. For std, its nothing special. The remote does suck. But for a PC monitor, its a god. I'll be happy to put my 27" next to anyone's Dell 2001fp and I will bet money the guy with the 2001fp would trade in a heartbeat. I've yet to ever heard of anyone getting one with a dead pixel. There is NO ghosting. And gaming in widescreen is the most enjoyable upgrade I've ever made. Also search for the AT review, its much more reliable I think than cnet's.

They have them at Microcenter also for $1399 with 50 rebate.

I believe this is the same TV that HSN/America's Store is selling for $1199 with free shipping.

dont mean to crap, ive actually heard really good things about that panel.

but heres
a real tv
50 inches of hidef goodness for around a grand..

uecweb has great frigging prices on refurbs. If you dont mind the ginormous crt rear porjectors, you can get a steal.
also look for 50v500, a great rear projecting lcd.

Projection tvs more bang for the buck, not as cool as direct lcd tho.

HD CRT's are nice for certain situations. And mostly just TV viewing. It does have a dvi-i input, but I would use it for a pc monitor. Console gaming defintely.

That is a nice price at the hsn defintely. At 1200, its really hard to beat.

I was under the impression that LCD products only displayed well (as a monitor at least) in their native resolution. If this is the case, how do they make decent TVs? Furthermore, how do they make good products for use with console games? Is there some difference between these LCD TVs and an LCD monitor? I've read many, many a post here and there that indicates PC LCD monitors do not do well with console games (with a VGA transcoder, of course) due to their native resolution issues.

I need a couple of TVs and would love one of them to be an little LCD TV, but I would definitely be using said display for use as a TV screen, a monitor, and a console monitor. If possible, I would greatly appreciate someone explaining this for me.
