Don't run the game in DX10 -- use DX9
Use tweakguides' final section for crysis for very high on the cheap

I do, I tweaked it alot, this is still no excuse for how slow the cards running for the price I paid, I'm gonna try different drivers but I doubt it'll boost the fps, and I hate rearranging my desktop icons again and again..

lol what does crysis have to do with your desktop icons? Not a single card out there can run cysis at 50fps.. nothing can. If you spent alot of money to buy the card you should have researched it first....
http://images.anandtech.com/gr...061408203021/17059.png no card can even get over 40fps.
You are trying to run the most graphically intensive game at the 2nd highest resolution with a crap load of AF, and yet you expect a ridiculous amount of fps.
And what made you think the 280 had twice the performance of the 4850?

I was getting 27fps in Crysis with 4850, I was hoping for at least 50+fps in it, but instead all I got is 32fps, using latest forceware from guru3d.com, seriously I thought the 280 gtx should be alot faster..

Now I will remember you and not answer any of your questions. Do your own research.
crysis doesn't run well on any single card. only SLI/CF and multiGPU cards are decent.

...because your asking us how to fix crysis in general. The game is poorly optimized and your expectations are WAY to high. On top of that your overclocked budget processor isn't helping either.
Also, maybe you should take your head out of your ass and read reviews and you would know this already. It ain't me you be smellin'.

He wasn't talking about crysis there; he keeps trying different drivers. So when he uninstalls the old driver; his screen resizes to a small resolution and when he re-installs the drivers, they're all now out of place; depending on where he likes the icons.
In any case OP is moronic for whining about his OC'd GTX280 doesn't get 50 FPS in Crysis @ 19X12; with 8x AF when no single card on the market will; unless you drop the resolution to like 1280X1024 and settings to a low/medium level.
Serves him right though for not doing ANY research on this subject matter though.

I did read reviews from plenty of sites, it is said the card should be a faster than the 4870 in Crysis, but now it feels almost the same.

Faster than 4870 != <50FPS.
<50FPS = SLI'd GTX280's.

Now stop trying to troll, you've got numerous answers here all of them say the same. Your expectations are too high for a single card, and if you bother to look at reviews like you claim you have you will notice your card is perfectly within average of what you have. In fact that only reason why yours would dip just below is because of your budget processor with low L2 cache and weak OC; it is also possibly bottlenecking your GPU...
If you don't like the answers your getting, maybe you should just keep telling yourself that so you can feel your purchase was worth it and stop pissing and moaning when it's working just as it should.

I never expected a super card, I only said I was hoping for 50fps especially with the newer drivers.
Stop trying to troll? It's real funny to see a troll say that when he likes to do name calling and laughing out loud at another member
I did look at the anandtech and hardocp review of the 280, my 4850/4870 does about 27/33fps in Crysis, I just hoped it could've break 40~50
