29 INCH NET TV at Local Computer show 200 bucks!

I went to the RobertAustin computer show in Oakland CA and they had NetTV for sale as low as 200 Bucks. If you are not familar with what a NetTv is it is a TV/Monitor. The resolution was quite good. Anyone know how the reliabilty is? I heard that the tubes are actually toshibas! I've included some links below and they list the 29 inch for 1000 plus bucks!

BTW it claims to be HDTV ready!

It is every other week on Sat. I think www.robertaustin.com has the dates. Hmm, kinda regret not picking on up. I thought they were cheap but it looks like they got quality tubes!

It was the 29 inch model. It was 200 bucks plus tax out the door. I did not get the vendors info because at first I thought it was a rip. I did not think it the resolution would have been that good. What made me not jump in to buy one was the fact that they were not in perfect condition. Some had scratches but the picture was fine. I felt sorry for the vendors cause they had to lug them all in! They also had bigger ones but I did not see the price.

most likely legit but you never know at these computer shows. I heard of stories where things have just "fallen off trucks." Ever buy a cpu at these stores? They hand it over to you wearing cutoff fingered gloves. Not very professional if you ask me.

If I'm not mistaken, these are more closely related to TVs than computer monitors. Have you ever used the TV-out of your display card to watch things on your TV? Kind of sucks right. Many of these "TVs" can't display at high resolution, some being limited to 800 X 600, so it limits one of the main reasons for getting a bigger monitor.

All this being said, I never saw the above Net TVs, so I could be wrong. One thing I know for sure is that whoever wants to sell these, will definitely be showing the best possible looking computer shots at the show. When you get it home and try to read hotdeals on Anand, you might be squinting.

i had no idea we had computer shows this frequently in our area. i recall going to a robertaustin's show at the cow palace long ago, but didn't know they were every other weekend. now i got something else to do besides read these posts on my weekends!

I actualy see this in computer show in Chicago and was 27 inch tv monitor
for 299 the brand I don`t remember but was some computer company. The picture was so
perfect you can clearly read small text and they show some dvd movie and it was really
good.

These puppies supposedly can go up to 1024 by 768. The quality really was pretty good but I have never heard of them so I refrained. I think some of them have built in tv tuners but I think the one I saw only had vga and rca inputs. You could of course buy a cheapo vcr to be your tuner. Not a bad deal. I kinda wish I got it but I would not have know how to lug the damn thing home! It was big!

Bought the 34" for $300 . Picture looks great at 1024x768 but had to have it for DREAMCAST with or without vga adapter yee haw PS2 my A@@
This will also be Xbox ready hehehehehhe
