11/01/08-11/16/08 rebate.

Through 10/31/08 Rebate.

Don't forget MS Livecash or FatWallet CashBack for more savings.

Cheapest price on this yet.

Using 2.75% MS Livecash, total would be:

36.99 - 2.75% - $25 MIR = $10.97 + stamp for rebate.

4-4-4-15 - 1T @ 2.1V
5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V JDEC from SPD.

If you have a SLI board with the right BIOS, these could be detected and the correct higher ratings pulled from SPD and used. Otherwise, you'll probably have to set them manually from BIOS. YMMV.

Sorry for asking a question that has probably been asked before. I'm thnking about getting a Biostar TA790GX and using it with my BE-2300 (low power) CPU.

I already have 2x1gb ram. should I buy this and use 4x1gb or just go ahead and get the OZC Reaper 2x2gb ram that's on sale right now. I do plan on OC.

You'll be better off OC (IMO) with the 2 sticks vs 4 sticks, especially if your 2 sticks don't match these two sticks (the slower ones win). Seems 4 sticks just don't behave as well as two sticks as far as overclocking (from what I've read). YMMV and good luck.

Thanks for including the SPD timing info. I have a question. With the 1.8V SPD settings of 5-5-5-18, will these work in a Dell Dimension (no modifying bios options)? Or do I need memory rated to run at 5-5-5-15 at 1.8V? What exactly is the JEDEC spec on the timings for ddr2-800?

Thanks!

Nice find. In for one! Should go well with a 780G board and my BE-2400 AMD processor for a new HTPC. Thanks!

I have a few pairs of these, and while the label says 4-4-4-15-1T @2.1v, the EPP has them 4-4-4-15-1T @2.0v

Are yours any different?

most dells do not have the bios (nor voltage) capabilities to run DDR2 RAM at 800 speed AND cas4.
It will default to its 5-5-5-15 setting unless its an Nforce SLI chipset motherboard

Right, I knew that I had no options to change in the bios. That's why I need this ram to run at 1.8V. I don't care that it will be at cas5 instead of cas4. I was just concerned that 5-5-5-18 would be too slow to run stably in my dell (i.e. that I needed ram rated to run at 5-5-5-15 at 1.8v), but it turns out my dell already runs fine at 5-5-5-18 so it should be fine. thanks.

ah, so yo were ADDING to existing, not replacing- gotcha .
For some reason my brain processed your comments to imply you did it to get ram with faster timings than what you were seeing you currently had.

EVGA 9800GT combo with this ram is now $92 after rebates (2x $25) and a new promo code: EMCBACJDJ

I did the OCZ 500W PSU combo already ~23 (FSP Mnf., active PFC) .

Ok, it's in my dell and works like a charm. Hooray for 4gb in Vista.

Got mine today. Didn't boot up on install - had to clear CMOS. Works great!

The shipping was weird though - had a UPS printed shipping label with a DHL label on top of that but was delivered by USPS.

Right, that's eggsaver shipping. Tracking info said dhl passed it off to usps. Still only took 4-5 actual days, can't complain for free shipping.

WTF? Ahh, it's like "SmartPost." I hate that. Tracking will show "delivered" when it is passed off to USPS, but then USPS doesn't guarantee a delivery time after that. Basically how it works is the main shippers are good at moving quantities of packages great distances, while USPS is good at delivering to every address regardless of the conditions. So, shipper delivers to your local post office, and your post office delivers to you.

I hate it because Woot! uses SmartPost and there have been times when I get the stuff quickly, and other times when tracking shows as delivered to my post office... and I get it two weeks later.

I recently got this RAM with the 500W power supply combo (I was actually interested in the power supply, but the combo price made it cheaper). However, when I installed the DIMMs in my Dell Vostro 200 (along with the stock 2x1GB RAM that was already in there), it was running fine for a few hours (@ 667Mhz), but then windows would crash ~5 minutes into Firefox or any program.

Does Windows XP 32-bit crash with more than 4GB of RAM? I am aware of the size limitation (mine was showing at 3.25MB), but I think the difference in timings is causing some problem with this Dell G33 motherboard. Memtest86+ was running fine for a few hours this morning, but then it was getting a ton of errors.

Check heat of the modules, if not too hot to touch, then one of your modules is bad. Possibly dust out the mem socket...
