I have been testing at 1280x960,32 bit,hardware t%l,trple z buffer etc, all iget is 2381!!!CRAP. System: asus a7v[rev1:02],duron 600@907[fsb 107, 8.5 x] asus geforce
2 mx@core 185 mem182 using asus 6.18 drivers.HDDquantam ct15gb[5400rpm] master, cx13gb[5400rpm] slave [33 dma ide channel] 1003 bios, vibra 128s/c 128mb pc 100 generic.Using athlon optimisations i only get 2470, so something somewhere is holding me back.ANY ideas??????

Your problem: you're running at 1280x960x32!!! Try running at default (1024x768x16) and you'll see much more comparable scores (probably around 5000-5500). GeForceMX isn't the greatest card for running at high resolutions at high color depths due to limitations with the SDR memory. You'll need a DDR/GTS to see more acceptable scores at higher res.

Also try the 6.26 driver for the MX and yes do the default benchmark...


For the point what else would you suggest??? 3dMark2000 can help to isolate problems and give some reference to the performance of your video & sub-systems...

For that resolution I would think you are doing pretty good to get that score. I did have a problem though when I installed my MX, I was only getting 1900 3DMARKS on a Athlon Classic running at 600MHz. I finally updated my VIA drivers (4 in 1 rev 2.24) and I went to 4400 3DMARKS (using 1024x768x16)!

Yeah, this post was befor I spent 3 hours in the lab of doom trying find just how far I could over clock the graphics processor and the core memory (which is 5050 top score). Your just ticked because I have the fastest video card, the fastest hard-drive and still the fastest CPU WITHOUT OVERCLOCKING (and spending a heck of alot less money than you did)......how is the DURON working?????

Yeah, even my RADEON (better video quality and cheaper than what you paid for your MX, did I mention out of the box DirectX 8.0 support too) is faster than your MX!!!!!!!!!Gosh how you guys hate me to have faster stuff then you...what is your hang up with FIC, just because you can't figure out how to setup PNP and IRQ settings.....sounds more like a lack of technicial know how more than anything else. Remember, $60 for DMA66, onboard sound, lots of overclock freqs and stability.

My GeForce2MX was $119 SHIPPED. HAHAHAHA. Excuse me for not wanting to dick with a board for 2 weeks just to figure out what is the jumper multiplyer configuration for 3.5x. Who has lack of technical know-how? We could have been jerks and said: Oh, yeah 1950, umm, yeah that's about what I get in 3DMarks 2000 too. (Leaves room) Buwahahahaha. Besides, it all boils down to who's name is atop the Frag list at the end of EVERY level in Quake3

In order to first score the high frags (yours isn't always at the top)your computer needs to be in operating order....who has been down for the LAST two weekends???? Who didn't know how to load your MX drivers....who still needs help with just about everything for the first three years they owned a computer???? It never took me any two weeks to figure out clock multipliers...just you guys. At least I can get things to work...

Anytime you want to play SFA.....oh, yeah, that would be cooperative turn hostle I think....

Your Craplon 650 is faster the my PIII 600@800? What's it like in your world! Funny, with my OLD Geforce256 o/c i get 5100-5150 3DMarks, so how is yours faster in anyway!!

We did play this past weekend, you never showed.

And if your so smart, why did you need us to go and show you what video card to buy? So then you went back and bought a Radeon, and ha!, it's slower! Spend more money to go slower? And you Radeon IS a DDR, not SDR like you posted before. Your $50 less MX with 32M SDR is faster (and MUCH FASTER O/C) than your 32M DDR Radeon!

And your FIC has lots of O/C potential for what!! YheeHaa, my K6-2 350 is @ 400! SS7 IS DEAD MAN!!

And good luck O/C that Radeon buy the way, since ATI sends them out running about as fast as they will run stabily.

And I don't believe anyone else has seen your 5000+ 3DMark!

My 12x10x32 Plextor will be here Friday to, but I'm sure your 8x4x32x Phillips is still faster!

Glad to see you've joined the thread...your only two days late as always...yeah, you guys wanted me to get a MX so I wouldn't be faster then you guys...as I figured...the RADEON may be slightly slower but the QUALITY, there is stuff in 3DMARKS that you NEVER knew existed with an MX...as I've already invited you over three times to view the QUALITY I will assume you are not (and to gloat over the score, he,he). As for the bike, you want me to get a 250 so I stand no chance of catching you guys (well, there are other reasons I admit, but, anytime you want to go head to head on a mountian bike I'm game).

PS You only have an extra 150MHz on me right now, but what will happen when the CRAPALON is SPANK'IN the PETACRAP??? Thought PLEXTOR was crap in your book??? Give me you old CR-RW, I'll see if it works in my system. My 350 has been up to 450MHz and stable as long as I'm not playing on your network...ah, I mean like a real NOS, not some lame peer to peer windows file and print shar'in oh I'm gonna listen to MP3 die network. I ran a 3DMark to see all this wonderful stuff your Radeon does. You know what, I have tents, tree bark, water reflections and all that other good stuff too. When did you beat me in Quake??? Are you out of your mind? The one time we played I came in at the last 3 mins and still won. MT and I played the last two weekends, you never came because it took you five hours to figure out how to install you Lightning fast Maxtor hard drive that we had to hold your hand when you bought it. And I don't mind playing on a card table however I do have a problem with playing in in the north pole. Clean the LAN bench, maybe we can play this weekend and we can all see how detailed that rocket is flying from my gun, and then see if we can figure out what that body part of yours is on the wall.

Just for fun I ran my PIII 600@600, ran my GeForce at stock settings, and ran my mem @100. 3DMarks = 4452 Ha!! My PIII @50 MHZ less than your Craplon, and my OLD 32MB SDR GeForce still ran faster than your 650 Classic Crap and Radeon DDR, good thing your system is faster!

An I told you to buy that Maxtor, I know it's faster than mine. I'm just glad you quit buying that Segate crap!

I always liked Plextor, before you bought your philips I told you they where the best, you just can't buy them at your favorite store Best Buy

And you on a 400 would leave me and stickhead with no one to laugh at (that is if you ever got it out of 1st). Plus that we would have to run and hold you up when you got on it or stopped (stickhead told me he had to hold up his 600 for you to get on it!) Oh my God!! It's got alot lower seat height than my DRZ!!

Yeah, I don't know why you got a 12X rewrite because I didn't think any of your systems would support buring past 4X???? Yeah, I had to admit that I was in abit of a hurry when I bought the Phillips, I couldn't beleave I got an IDE ReWriter (you know I love SCSI).

I don't remember mellon head holding his 600 for me, I think it was more like he thought I was going to drop it for him...

I'm running low on things to cut on you about, besides the wife said I've been spending too much on the Anandtech stuff.

PS I've already O/C my MX, got it to go as fast as it is going to go.
