You don't remember me holding up my bike for you because after you rode it you went it to a state of shock because you couldn't belive the rock chucking tourqe that the mighty TT600 can produce. i dont understand how u guys say Radeon DDR is slower then Geforce MX?
and someone said that Radeon's are sold with highest clock so u can't overclock it?
at least argue with correct facts. daffy said it best. since u guys are friends, y dont u do this over the phone?

i'll give you some 3dmark scores when i get home..but remember i have a ddr....but all i know is my comp runs like a frickin champ...loads windows me in 6sec after my controller card finds the drives...loads icq,aol instant,norton,motherboardmonitor, and so on....i'll give you some scores after i get home i need to reclock my video card cause i just formatted like a week ago and haven't o/c it yet.... Let me just say if i had a choice i'd take the 32meg ddr radeon over the mx anyday.. just for features, dx8 support, fsaa,hyper z for those high rez days... nothing wrong with the mx it's just feature limited like the old voodoo3 just not as much..you get the idea...i want a radeon 64meg vivo...oooooo*drools*

Have you installed the latest VIA 4 in 1 Drivers (4.42), this seems to help out alot. (H.A.R.M had this in his post by the way!) Did you try it?

And what did you get when you benched it at 1024x768 16/16? Maybe if you would repost with what you have tried and what changed we could help you better. It took you 6 days to repost, and then you just pi**ed and moaned about our post's, we can't rebench it and change drivers for YOU!!

In all the 3DBenchs WE have done, the MX 32 SDR was faster than the Radeon 32 DDR! And if you O/C it, it was even faster. Most MX seem to have alot of head room for over clocking, but the raeon (from what i have seen here atleast) does not!

These are the correct facts as I have seen! Are the absolutely correct, maybe not! but it's what I have seen. Have you ran ran both cards in the same machine to see the real diff between them?!!

You most be confused on this whole speed thing, Corvette my friend!

You will have to take most of HARM's post with a grain of salt. Up untill we told him otherwise he thought he had an SDR Radeon, but rather he has a DDR. And we are still debating 3DMark 2000 MX scores. I got a new high of 4882 last night. Whoopieee!

THE FACTS:

FACT 1
Hercules MX 32 SDR $149 3DMARKS out of box 4500 (after I added 4in1)
RADEON 32MB DDR $199-$50rebate=$149 3DMARKS out of box 4400
(hum, about the same cost, newer technology, native DirectX 8 support)

FACT 2
AFTER TWEAKING the MX for 3 HOURS I was able to get 5035-5045 pretty easy, my max ONE TIME SCORE WAS 5058.
(hum, about the same scores out of the box, unsure about overclock for the RADEON, better video quality)

FACT 3 (well, and some rumors)
No one has really PROVED that the Radeon is maxed out (we won't know until someone offers a TWEAK program which I hear is under development from the makers of Rage 128 Tweaker...now why would someone make a tweak program if it was already running at the max clock freq???) Also (RUMOR MILL TIME)I have heard that there are some options that have disabled in the RADEONS firmware).

FACT 4 (well, personal perference)
Yes, the MX is FASTER as I've pointed out four or five times now...BUT, Moving Target and Stick for brains have never stopped over
to see the QUALITY of this card (nor witness any benchmarks). So argue that a DDR should stomp the SDR but speed is NOT everything as I'm concerened.

Yes, my RADEON is a DDR (checked the box), I thought is was a SDR because Moving Target and Stickhead SAID it was SDR...plus I was trying to hide the box from the wife.

At least I've spent the time & money to use both cards and do some type of eval and have honest marks (well as honest you can get with 3DMakrs) and in my case I say RADEON all the way baby...long live ATI, TYAN, FIC, AMD, SEAGATE, NOVELL, TEAC, TOSHIBA, & HP

Are you trying to get banished from this place? Long live FIC & Seagate???? I think everyone knows that these companys are pretty much bottom-of-the-line in their respective feilds.

How could we have been telling you you have a SDR Radeon when we never came over to view this awesome quality, and therefor never saw the box?

Seriously Stickforbrains, you've only been involved in computers for 2 years (at best, only the last years you've been able to install window 98 without assistance) and you really only know workstations with multimedia stuff...your lack of experience is really showing now...seagate has some of the fastest drives around over the past 10 years, I do admit I have had some of the worst luck but, in the overall mix of things I have pulled few dead seagate drives (I think maybe three and they did create the HD industry with the MFM, RLL drives) in the "real world". But on the otherhand I have pulled many a drives out of bearing the label of Maxtor, Western Digital and Qauntum in the PAST TEN YEARS. You background in videocards and processors is good, but in the realworld of networking and the overall mix of things, we don't spend much time talking about core freqs and DDR vs SDR (which both you and MV stated the Radeon as having SDR, because you two are the self proclaimed Video Card experts...)
