Just a work of warning to those that microwave coffee.

#1: 2 minutes is too long.

#2: Stir coffee before adding anything to it.

I nuked my cup for 2 minutes, took it out and added my sugar almost immediately. This caused the coffee to boil over, badly burning 3 fingertips of my right hand...(damn, there goes my social life!) Not sure why this happened, but I will never do that again. No reply is needed, I just wanted to put it out there. Be careful!

Meh, I microwave my coffee for one* minute on high and it still turns out rather hot, then I add the milk/cream...

I can't microwave the dairy, that's kind of gross.

Please, don't even mention how gross milk and cream is to begin with, I already know and don't feel like thinking about it anymore.

* - Why I felt the need to capitalize the "o" in one, I have no idea.

No matter how long you boil the water it won't top 100C@1ATM, that was atleast what I was told.

I made kahlua one time with instant coffee. When I added the sugar to that per the receipe, I had to move the pot off the burner. Almost boiled over.

Where you drinking instant coffee?

No, not instant coffee. Just heating up coffee from pot that I had made late last night.

didn't the mythbusters do an episode on this? And didn't they find that this will happen with distilled water since there are no longer any impurites, allowing the water to heat beyond boiling?

Maybe the old coffee was filtered of enough impurites (metals or minerals?) to allow this to happen.
