Well yes and no.

Since you're footing a large part of the bill then you should have input. If you're not going to be the driver of it then maybe you should look at it as being nice to your wife (if she likes it). I still think you should have input though.

I myself can't really say you're being unreasonable if I don't know what the car is. The reason I say this is because say you're severely anti-Japanese or something, so you'd immediately hate a Japanese companies car. I would call this unreasonable, but not if its something that is almost universally accepted as crap (say a Yugo maybe).

BTW, no you're not being unreasonable. I have a certain breaking point for finances beyond which I will be a very unhappy person, and if mrsskoorb did that she'd have broken that point many times in a row. I'd probably actually die. Unless she came back with something ludicrous like a 350z and then I'd be just torn over the issue. But, considering you're now driving a scion xA, you're not being unreasonable.

Take it back. There is NO reason to buy a brand-new Grand-Am. If you are buying a grand-am - get one a year or two old so you know which door is going to rattle. Make sure it's the passenger side that rattles(or atleast rattles louder than the driver's side)

<-sold lots of grand-ams to silly folks.

Oh and don't mind you can pick up a used one for like $2.
