Hey I'm building a hackintosh and was wondering which is the best memory configuration for my build. 2x2gb or 4x1gb?

I think if I went 4x1gb it might be cheaper. Is there any downsides?

I have so many decisions: Here's what I had in mind
2x2gb:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227364 (cas: 7, but lower voltage? Is this bad or good?)

4x1gb:

2x2GB is generally the favored setup when everything else is equal. It puts less stress on your northbridge and leaves room for future upgrades if necessary.

Unless you're planning on overclocking though, there's no real point to DDR2-1066. May as well save your money and get DDR2-800.

Okay then how about these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820145184 $25 after MIR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227269 $20 after MIR

I probably won't be overclocking. Will be using the computer for multitasking. Am I safe with the $20 ones?

I'm not going to comment on brand as my vote would be obvious. But, I would suggest 2 x 2GB for sure.

I would go with the Corsair, and not just because of Yellowbeard's winning smile.

If you're not overclocking go for the 1.8V stuff every time.

Better timings when you feed them 2.1V. It probably all works out the same.
