2x800xl or 1 x1800

i already have a x800xl on a dfi nf4 ultra-d, and i was thinking of getting another x800xl for under 200, rather than selling mine and buying a new x1800 or x1900. it is really worth that much more dough?

You were thinking of getting another X800XL and doing exactly what with them? The Ultra-D is NOT an SLI board first of all (the SLI-D is), second of all you can't SLI ATI cards (you need to do that on an ATI Crossfire board) and third of all you need to get a Crossfire master card with ATI.

So if you were thinking of running two regular X800XL's together, then there's no way that is possible, not even on an ATI board. Ditch the X800XL (sell it on FS/FT) and get an X1800 or X1900 card.

I was wondering the same thing...Using 2 ATI cards is not as easy as two NVidia cards. In any case, SLI is not worth it unless you have a lot of cash to burn, or a monitor with huge resolution.

Neither solution is really easier than the other, however. Either way, you have to buy a special board and 2 of the right cards that will work together. They operate slightly different, but neither is universal.

Just get an X1800 XL.....it's a wonderful card...

wait awhile for x1900's to drop, (couple weeks, maybe a month) then get that.
