3.2 is easy because that's what DDR2-800 runs at stock (400x8). Higher is always better as long as you're not close to the previous memory strap (i.e. 400 to 401 is BAD).

I run my E6600 at 3.2Ghz (400x8) for everyday use and only pushed it higher once to see how far it would go and benchmark (433x9=3.9Ghz).

3.2Ghz is considered a "safe" overclock.

I run my E6600 at 3.00Ghz because it's a nice round number, and because it's a decent temperature under load...

There's a lot of factors, each computer/case/processor/person are going to be different for different reasons.

I run my E6400 at 3.2Ghz because it's 1)easy, 2)doesn't take additional voltage to acheive, 3)makes my system run about as warm as I care to run it 24/7, and 4)it just works really good.

I am sure I could go much higher with my overclock but then I would risk instability and added heat which I don't need. Plus, there is the whole "law of diminishing returns" thing. I'm not gonna notice an additional 200Mhz but I will notice the heat, etc.

I'm running it at 3.4 and checking to see how stable it is..if its stable i'll keep it at 3.4 if not lower it to 3.2 i can run 1.2v @ 2.8ghz.runs super cool.

3.3GHz here just to see whether cheapie Kingston DDR2-667 RAM could cut the mustard at a little over DDR2-800.

IMO..3.4 is not much diff from 3.5 or 3.6 but its a big jump to 3.7 as i saw in some review the benchmarks from going from 3.5 to 3.7. I would just keep it at the most stable speed. im running 1.33volts now and so far its rock solid, i dont do any orthos or folding. I run games and programs fine. its also runs very cool when u drop the volts. my temps are 48c in TAT 42c in speedfan and 37c in software monitor.
