3-4yr old Multi Player games

I have Crysis, COD4, COD World At War, and Battelfield Bad Company2. Which game still has a multiplayer based community? I was considering buying Advanced Warfare but that's a little too high on the frivolous spending scale so I figured I'd re-acquaint myself with some of the older titles I have.

I'm sure you could buy BF4 at a fairly good price and get a game that's much better than advanced warfare that also has a huge community.

BC2 would get my vote,i still play it occasionally. I regard it still as my favorite Battlefield game. Rush mode alone makes BC2 just a overall awesome BF game.

Team Fortress 2. Massive community, super fun, lots of custom made maps and best of all, its FREE.

Agreed with moonbogg's comment above, regarding TF2. It's free, give it a try.

And of the games you mentioned I do know that Bad Company 2 is still being played online by a decent number of players every day. Heck, I think that people still play BF1942, or at least BF2 which also has a free version I believe, called Battlefield Play4Free.

Team Fortress 2. Massive community, super fun, lots of custom made maps and best of all, its FREE.

TF2 isn't really the same kind of game at all though. It seems like the OP is more interested in the realistic shooter genre, and TF2 is like the polar opposite.

Actually I bought it just for Rising Storm. It's a very good game. Just tired of the same old maps.

You should look at Killing Floor then, or just wait for Killing Floor 2.

CS:GO is one of the most popular games on Steam. It's pretty good.

I'm about a step away from picking up CS:GO on steam right now.

cs:go is at a great place right now. viewership for the game is still growing. tourney purses are getting bigger. the game is getting regular updates. there's decent matchmaking features for the game. there's dedicated servers. there's a learning curve for the game if you've never played any of the previous iterations. if buy it i recommend pumping a ton of hours in dm so you learn the recoil/maps/angles.

game is really good if you're into competitive play.

Actually right after my last post i bought it. 14.99 is a good price and it seems like it's going somewhere in terms of progress as I look back on all the CS games.

The next game I'm considering is either COD. Advanced Warfare, or BF4.

What I'd like to see between these two titles is maps on the scale of Rising Storm maps. Rising storm maps are HUUUGE. Battlefield Bad Company2 maps are small imo compared to Rising storm maps

I'm looking forward to a Vietnam mod called In-Country:Vietnam. It was suppose to be a mod for the UE3 engine until they decided to release it on the UE4 engine. I'm really looking forward to this one.

CS:GO is just more CS. I own it. It's still very buggy and a ton of the features are broken:
-Aim down sights non-functional
-Laying down prone non-functional
-Kill streaks usually do not count correctly
-Kill streak rewards non-functional

Instead of fixing these problems, the devs make skins for guns. It's awful.

14.99 USD isn't bad. I'm guessing they have buy options like in mobile games like Candy Crush. Am I right? (haven't even spent 10 minutes in the user GUI mode, let alone joining a game)

If you get BF4 you'll need Premium to go with it more than likely. But if big maps are what you're after then I'd say look no further.
