3 5-Star hotels, Westerners taken hostage, 172 dead in India

No idea why this isn't making more news. If the feeds are right, they are taking Americans and Brits hostage and rounding them up on one floor of the hotel. Hospitals have been attacked as well.

This is pretty scary considering if you are a tourist in Mumbai, chances are pretty good you'd at least be in the near proximity of where this happened. The Taj is right next to the Gateway of India, and Leopold's is the center of the bustling tourist area (and would have been absolutely full during the time this happened with foreigners drinking). You can be sure a lot of the dead are foreigners.

Interestingly, there WAS a credible threat that AQ-linked militants were planning to attack NYC subway trains, so I don't think the possibility of a globally-coordinated attack is outside the realm of possibility.
