Imations are pretty good...slightly above average or so I've been told (their CD-R's anyway, their drives aren't so hot). I could be wrong here tho.

Imation is CMC Magnetics. Supposedly one of the not so good but I haven't had any problems with mine. Some Imation is really good stuff but you pay more for it.

The Fuji 16x stuff that was onsale at CompUSA is really good stuff. Tayio Yuden or whatever it is called, hehe... (gotta go run CDR ID on it again).

I'm working on a little database for CDR media. Should be up soon...

EDIT: I meant to include that it seems like some of the CDR information is getting a little dated. I would imagine quality control has improved a lot lately...

the fuji cdrs from compusa ROCKS. it works on my cheap $20 portable cdplayer whereas hival and compusa brand cdrs dont. and it was only 9.99+tax per spindle(r) after rebate. too bad there was a limit of 2 per address.

as far as imations go, i've never really heard anything bad about them. sometimes not hearing anything bad is almost as good as hearing something good.
