System setup overview
750i SLi
corsair DDR2 800 (pc2-6400) 2x2GB
8 fans, liquid cooling

BIOs settings
450FSB
500mhz MEM
1.31 vcore
1.48 NB
1.58 SB
1.44 VTT
2.19 MEM
5-5-5-15 (defaults were 5-5-5-18 it was advertised as the 4-4-4-12 though, wasn't 100% sure in making the tightening of 18 to 15 =/)
Followed the guide in these forums for all the enables and disables.
My BIOs pretty much only gives me the above options to change.

My system seems to be able to run anything except for 95stress test, the computer locks up after 5 minutes or so, and core0 fails after 3 seconds =/. Could anyone guide me towards a core0 that doesn't fail as fast =). I was watching temps until the lockup no core ever passed 46c on 100% load, and the minimum was 28c which was on 0~5% load. If I missed some information ask me and I'll give it to you. Yes, I immediately went for the 3.6 from 2.66 lol.

Regards,
Matt

The majority of Q9450's will not do 3.6GHz. Try FSB @ 445MHz or lower, set DRAM to 1:1 ratio. Other than that you should be good to go, you might need a little boost to the vcore.

Yeah, try giving it a little more VCore and perhaps lower your VTT a little. Q9450 and the rest of 45nm CPUs are suspected to die if given too high a VTT. Try staying on maximum of 1.4V VTT just to be on the safe side.

Alrighty, I've changed my VTT to 1.38 and Vcore to 1.3750 but 95stress test crashes completely after core0 fails, so I'm going to slowly raise my vcore and keep my VTT at 1.38. I'll be honest I only have a few postulations on how to read that chart the one I'm going try is if i'm using 1.38 VTT that should be .92 of the Vcore so I'm not sure if i should raise my vcore all the way to 1.5 I'm going take someones reply into consideration before acting on that one =/. Thank you all for the extremely fast and many replies . And I'll continue to edit my post with the updated vcore below this paragraph.

Edit1: 1.31750 was my first change* and I've just changed it too 1.37500 and core0 lasted about 5 seconds compared to the 2seconds it originally did. All temperatures are still below 50C, I also reviewed the table and saw the columns name was 67% so does that mean perfect vcore is 1.38? Sorry for being a complete noob at reading this table =/.

Matt

no way! dont raise your vcore to 1.5v...thats basically instant death/suicide. honestly, i wouldn't even go above 1.4vcore either...

also, its nice to see that you got a high FSB from ddr2-800 sticks..hehe

Ya, my corsairs can go higher without problem but I'm afraid of consequences, that I don't know about. Also going add from where I left off on my edit I think I'll try 1.38 and see if i have better luck does anyone disagree with my NB and SB?

YES! 1.38 was the perfect vcore for core0 to become stable for at least an hour I'll do an overnight stress test tonight to see how stable it is. If anyone has any changes for me please tell me!

Matt

Edit: Major grammatical error .

Thank you

I went to make it 1:1 ratio but for some reason at the moment I was thinking my FSB was only 400 not 450 so I changed the DRAM to 400 and I god the Bsod after 2 hours of running and I freaked out lol. I find it sweet I learned a ton about overclocking in a couple of hours even though I probably don't know even close to all there is to know about overclocking, I've surpassed tech guy that use to be a prison guard at my school lol.

EDIT: I know this is the wrong section but I've also overclocked my 9800GTX from 675,1600,1100 to 800,2000,1125 I'm probably going try to boost the memory clock a little more than just 25 but a little nervous.

On 3dmarkvantage my CPU scored a 14500 and my GPU a 6300

EDIT2: New validation with GPU updates http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=366449
