<< Gary,

Tried emailing you twice. On checkout page, apparently your CC processor charged my car but never flagged it as such. Discover says the charge went through and you have $40 of my money. Can you please email me the info for my site?

Thanks,
sygyzy@umail.ucsb.edu

Your site is up, haven't seen an email from you but I remember setting up the site. Actually seems like didn't we talk on the phone?

I haven't been on the board in a while, it hasn't emailed me that anyone posted! Today's the first thread update I've gotten in days, I figured the thread had died

<<

<< Anyone know how to set up those extra email accounts?? >>

go to www.yourdoman.com/siteadmin

I emailed tech support a few days ago, and I never got a reply. That's OK as I figured out the problem 2 minutes after I sent it. I have had my sites up for about a month now, and have only had 20 seconds of downtime total. Nice

We're working the bugs out of the ticket system, plus the harddrive filling up repeatedly on support.dixiesys.com (the server) hasn't helped any. Hopefully it's settling down now.

Hey all.....

I must also comment on Gary's service. I called to find out about hosting an ASP site and Gary gave me a straight up answer. He told me what he uses to interpret the asp code, etc....

He refered me to the site of the software he uses for all my answers (since I would understand all the asp jargon better than he would since he doesn't program it)

NOT once did he try to sell me service, he wanted to make sure that his hosting would be what I was looking for. This is a person I would defintly trust hosting my account.

Thanks Gary for being an honest guy. I know you will have a successful business with your attitude. I look forward to moving my site that is hosted from my office(1mb up/down xdsl connection at home to you.

Dixie,
I have a couple of questions about the www.3-95.com hosting.
1) What version of MySQL are you running and did you compile it with InnoDB support?
2) How hard is it to setup CC processing, and do you have any recommendations on companies to handle this? (Note: It would be relatively small amounts of money, probably around $1)

Thanks in advance,
BlackCatt

I initially registered my domain with RegisterFly as well, but for some reason they didn't like having other DNS servers listed for my domain. After a couple of days I just completely transferred my domain name over to Gary and saved me the hassle of dealing with RegisterFly.

BlackCatt, he's running MySQL 3.23.37 and you can use phpMyAdmin to manage the tables.

BTW, I just like to add that my account was setup 2 hrs after payment, best service I've ever seen.

llew,
Thanks for the version information. Do you happen to know whether it is installed to support the Innodb table types.

cpars,

Seems like Gary don't check this thread much. It's better off go to his tech support page and open a support ticket online. I got my questions answered fast through that way.

About FrontPage 2000 extension, I remember it's disable in default. You have to request Gary to enable it for you.

Good luck!

if im going to buy webspace, it'll be from you, gary.

what do you guys think about redirection.net? it's 5 bucks a year for a domain name apparently? does anyone know anything about them? are they reliable? i think theyre owned by the same guy that owns spaceports. with a five dollar domain name and 3-95 hosting ... i think i might revive my old website.

thanks for good prices, gary. =)

now you know why the ticket system is in place for the support side If I leave for 2 hours I come back to 40 emails or more it's too easy to skip someone.

What did you ask?

Thanks

Is anyone else having problems in accessing both www.dixiesys.com and www.3-95.com?

I've tried it from my cable connection at home, by telnetting to a box at work and then trying to connect to the servers.
I have pinged both addresses, and dixiesys.com is the only one that gives me response.

I am hosting some stuff on pair.com, so I went ahead and ran a traceroute with the following results:

traceroute to www.dixiesys.com (216.40.203.11), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 beast.pair.net (192.168.1.1) 0.599 ms 0.462 ms 0.424 ms
2 at-1-2-384.usnycm2-j20c.savvis.net (209.83.160.129) 9.398 ms 10.360 ms 15
.109 ms
3 at-1-2-0907.usdlls2-j20c.savvis.net (64.242.22.185) 55.134 ms 55.369 ms 5
5.265 ms
4 everyoneint-1.s2333b.ushstn2-j20c.savvis.net (64.243.79.14) 62.530 ms 61.2
39 ms 62.907 ms
5 tayhou-223-34.ev1.net (207.218.223.34) 63.134 ms 64.456 ms 62.337 ms
6 www.dixiesys.com (216.40.203.11) 61.235 ms 61.746 ms 64.425 ms

So, it seems like the server for dixiesys is up, but not hosting web stuff.

Any alerts that I missed from Gary that told us that his web server would be down?

Thanks!

Juan

p.s.

Sorry for the techieness in my email!

i was having problems for about 30 minutes today connecting via FTP, but it's all okay now ...
>>

Not sure what happened, it would ping but nothing else web/ssh/nothing worked. Had to put in a ticket to have it rebooted. It only took them an hour or so to do it. Can't wait to get into the local colocation center so I can do these things myself (faster).

Everything looks good now.
