For the record, I experienced no such loss in service once subscribed. Gary still responded frighteningly fast - like he was over my shoulder.

I'm running behind today and yesterday, I was out of the office all day yesterday trying to get some leases signed and get some big pipes ordered for a data center, if all goes well I'll be up and running in 2-3 months so I got VERY behind on my email. I got home last night at 7PM with 150 emails waiting and I was up until 4 answering everyone.

I got up at 8 with 24 emails, and started answering them, as well as training a new employee (it's not just me anymore answering the tech support questions!). Right this second I'm about 2 hours and 40 minutes behind and catching up fast since Troy is answering tech support tickets already.

Colorfinger.com just got it's frontpage extensions enabled and an email should be there about 7 minutes ago.

And to top it off, I've had 3 days worth of orders today, so far, it's only 2:45PM, I can't wait to see my referral logs, there's been a link somewhere added to us, on someplace BUSY. More orders than the first TWO days of the anandtech posting COMBINED so far!

Wow, it's amazing how well you're handling being that busy. I was a winner in the Dutch auction that ended yesterday. I emailed asking what I needed to do to pay and stuff right before I went to bed. A response was waiting for me when I got up at 6:45 this morning. I filled out the forms to have the domain registered and to pay for the hosting, and before noon I got the emails saying I was all setup. I've gotten into the FTP site to have a look around and played with the site management stuff, it's all pretty sweet. Now that I have access to a mySQL database, I'm trying to think up something to do to play with it. Talk about a great deal.

Well, I must have got stuck in the bottom of the heap.

I somehow got the wrong password input or something. I can't get logged in. I sent about 5-6 of the emails in the backlog and have not heard back.

I called and Gary was out, so he couldn't do anything at the moment (In his defense I was leaving for the evening also).
But I haven't heard anything all day today.

Yep you certainly got the shuffle, I forgot you called yesterday too. I think you got handled though about 2 hours ago with a password reset right?

The helpdesk/ticket system is about to go online so that people don't slip through the cracks. I mean it's been "there" and online but it's about to become a necessity, there's been over 40 signups yesterday and today, the volume of tech support requests 40 new customers brings is enormous in a 2 day span.

Sorry it took so long hopefully having a managed ticket system will help.

Signed up....both for a new domain as well as the hosting at www.3-95.com. I have very happy with the quick response from them and great customer service with a newbie to webhosting.

One question I have is this: looking up the domain info for my domain name I saw that the "owner" of the domain name is "Dixiesys.com Customer". Where is the proof that I "own" the domain?

I sent an email to dixiesys.com, but as posted previously, they are swamped, so maybe you all know the answer. Shouldn't the domain name be registered in my name?

i've set up 2 websites with gary in the last few weeks - tech support was outstanding...we exchanged a few e-mails so quickly that it was almost like instant messaging

i think right now he's caught up in the classic small business startup squeeze...where you get so much growth so quickly it's almost impossible to stay on top of everything...hopefully with some more people to help out he'll be able to catch up (and stay caught up)

I signed up with 3-95.com about 3 weeks ago. I registered a domain through them right before I left for lunch that day, and by 3:00 that afternoon (so about 2-3 hours later) I was up and running. I've had the best service and have experienced zero down-time thus far!

Sounds like Gary is reaping the fruits of his labors right now by so many new subscribers. Gary is a good guy and he'll make sure you get what you need.

I sent you an email last night with a cut&paste of the helpdesk response with your new/reset password. Did you not get that?

It's the default "template" you should have gotten an email with instructions on access the domain control panel and a note saying "when you get a chance you should log in and change your contact information to appear however you'd like it to", did you get that email? Sometimes I forget to send it out, http://domains.dixiesys.com/ you can login there to change it, it should be the password you gave when you registered the domain.

sounds like a decent deal. I went with readyhosting.com 500MB/unlimited fo $99/year. It also supports real audio/video and a bunch of other stuff. very happy so far..

also, you can FTP OR just upload with FrontPage

Kudos to Gary for answering all of the questions here. I'll be signing up for your hosting service real soon!

Those asking him questions in this thread. . .Let him do his work! I know how difficult it can be to have 10 things going on at one time, but he needs to eat and sleep. In other words, contact him by email so he doesn't have to keep checking here for questions.

No flaming here. . just common sense. Although, posts about host quality and service would be appreciated!

Thanks all and GOOD JOB GARY!!!

Is anyone else having difficulties publishing form front page 2002 to their domain hosted at 395, I cannot get it to connect except through ftp. And I do not think its my doing since I am able to publish to my site hosted at addr.com just fine.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but I am very new to webpages period: Did you request Frontpage extensions turned on?

<< I am not 100% on this, and would not want to speak for Gary, but I think he only supports up to FP2000. >>

The differences between FP2000 and 2002 are minimal at best on the server side, I saw a list of like 11 items that were new.

A classic problem is you upload a little bit with FTP and then try to upload with Frontpage, BIG nono.

Another problem is sometimes instead of using the webmaster login (hardcoded into frontpage) someone will login with their regular username, resulting in the files going into http://www.domain.com/~user/blahblah

Either of those two problems are almost 100% likely what's happening (which means now that I said that there is no way in heck that either of those are, in fact, the problem).

here's a challenge (but maybe worth it)

PostgreSQL hosting is not offered everywhere.. and it could set you apart from all the other hosting providers... I know I'd buy from you in a flash if Postgresql hosting were an option and be willing
to put down 10 to 20 bucks a month to have this...

in the web hosting industry, it seems that uniqueness really helps out. Postgresql could be that for you.
