Hey all,

As far as graphics cards go, what are my options for running 3 monitors with 1 card?

I can't seem to find a clear answer.

Thanks in advance ( I tried searching but have about 30 mins to place this order, lol)

You need to use an AMD card 5xxx or 6xxx can do it, but you'll also need to use the card's display port which most monitors don't support sadly so you'll need an adapter.

You could also just use a USB-VGA/DVI adaptor, EVGA sells one as I'm sure other companies do, for the 3rd monitor.

What monitors do you have? what display options do you want ?

For clarity. OP should specify details of monitors (resolution, inputs - DVI etc) and intended usage (extended 2D desktop, 3D gaming, movies/productivity combo etc).

Yeah, I was wondering if the OP meant run triple monitor gaming or needs to run three separate monitors for different things. He needs to clarify some things first.

1 card wont hold him on 3 24's.. lol..

Im with the 2 guys above me.

Need to know what monitors and what resolution, and what your objective is.

EyeFinity or not.

On Nvidia, except a few rare cards, you will need 2.

for 3 display on one card, you don't have any choice but use amd card (hd 5xxx or hd 6xxx)

I do all right with my card and my monitors, including gaming.

It's not maxed out... but I knew what I wanted and got it, and it works.

was looking to game across 3 24" screens... I went with the XFX Radeon HD 6870... Next up, replacing the Q6600 driving this machine. Thanks all!

Good choice. AMD has a good history of triple monitor support at this point considering they brought the idea into the mainstream with Eyefinity.
