1. Beastie Boys........what's sad is that I hear they're still making what they called music? Geez, that's not sad, it's pathetic! :disgust:
2. GNR.....3 halfway decent songs does not a great band make, unless they were like GNR, and came out in the late 80's. Let's face it, they looked like a bunch of escapees from a masquerade party at an insane asylum. Definitely a one-hit wonder type band, to the 3rd power.
3. just about any "band" that does hip-hop or rap....let's face it, they're not making music, for the most part. They're rhyming, oftentimes badly, speaking instead of singing (thought there's a lot of bands that came out in the 90's that can be accused of having a lead singer that couldn't sing!! ), and scratching records. Wow......and you make a million putting out that drivel?? Just shows you that the record industry can truly cram anything down the throats of mindless sheeple!!
Honorable mention - anyone who gets caught lip-syncing!! :|

Anything EMO, but three that come to mind:
Fallout Boy
Death Before Disco
Good Charlotte
The only thing worse then these bands are the fans of these bands.

Here are my choices of the 3 most over-rated bands ever, including some (dis)honourable mentions:
3. Nirvana - grunge blows and its dead. So is he, just let it go.
2. Metalica - actually makes Motorhead sound talented
1. Oasis - Beatles wannabees, may have talent but its overshadowed by egos the size of England. Its a bad idea to base a career on imitating another band with an even bigger ego.
And the runners up:
Grunge Bands - yup, they should all just stop.
Post-Grunge Bands - please, for the love of God, stop.
Queen - 'nuff said
Pearl Jam - covering a song from the '50s is a sign of a dead career. pack it in boys.
Beatles - Bigger than Jesus, my a$$
Van Halen - a few catchy songs but not as great as Eddie thinks he is
U2 - just plain boring
well, that's my list. Don't take it too seriously. I am very sleepy.
Yeah, we can't take him seriously. I bet he thought Kanye sucked b/c he had scratches on his album and is a "one hit wonder". LOLOriginally posted by: ZOOYUKA

One-hit wonder? Paradise City, Sweet Child O'Mine, Welcome To The Jungle, Patience, November Rain, Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Don't Cry, Civil War just to name a few in their short lived career. And what does appearance have to do with a band being over-rated or not?

Again this thread should be "Name three bands you don't like". I think Lord Noob has one of the only good list in this thread...Creed, Limp Bizkit, and Nickleback. I also remember Ms. Spears was mentioned. Those are overrated. U2, Metallica, DMB...not overrated.

oh youve done it now! He is gonna come bust a cap in your ass!
He said they were a one hit wonder band literally, I don't know where you're getting this. He is saying that they and every band like them (type) are one hit wonders:Originally posted by: torpid

He said it was that type of band, not that it was literally a one hit wonder band. There are some bands that fit the bill... basically any band that puts out an album with 1-2 songs written by record producers specifically to be singles with radio time and the rest filler crap actually written by the (generally untalented) artists. I don't think GNR fits the bill, but to each his own.

My list:
1) REM
2) Live
3) Snoop Dog (every album after Doggystyle blew)
4) 50 Cent (pop trash) & anything related

Then he goes on to say all hiphop/rap isn't music. Can't take him seriously. BTW, rjd2 and dangermouse > * /thread
