Islamophobic hate crimes are such a small problem that white people in America suffer more hate crimes. Now consider how laughable the idea of anti-white discrimination is in America, let alone anti-white hate crimes. Have you ever heard of one? I've lived here all my life and I haven't outside of some obscure revenge crimes during the violent parts of the civil rights movement.
I mourn the loss of three innocents as much as anyone, but this incident represents nothing more than a crazy person murdering 3 people. Statistically speaking that's going to happen a few thousand more times this year even if we stopped everything and devoted every possible resource to this problem. Are we going to have massive internet debates about all of them? No, because unless news organizations and posters on the internet can spin an issue into more than it is, it apparently isn't worth talking about. In this case it so happens that the murderer was an atheist and his victims were Muslim. If the murderer was Hindu and his victims Christian this thread would not exist even if every other circumstance was identical.
Incidents like the Chapel Hill killings confirm that the self-righteous beacons of democracy suffer from similar biases. A media trial in America has already decided that it wasn't a hate crime. The rest of the world says: terrorism. The former quotes the "suspect's" wife. The latter the victim's father.

OP is wanting Americans to give more fucks about muslims killed in the USA than muslims give about Westerners killed in Middle-Eastern countries. The needle on my irony meter doesn't go high enough to rate this situation.

Why the hell are the Muslims turning this around and making this a bigger issue than it is. It is a case of a mental psycho who hates all Religions (although he did stick up for Muslims once in the past on a forum) and people in general who was looking for some excuse to use his weapon. The victims could of been Jews, Asians, Indians, British, African, etc. etc.
Now we see Muslims on TV trying to turn this around make Religion as being the cause. Oh the poor Muslims living in the dreaded USA surrounded by kafirs waiting to slaughter them!!

Because Islam as a culture is largely stuck in the dark ages, and those were the days where nobility could legally murder someone for a simple insult; and tribal politics were everything. Just look at the reactions over drawings of Muhommad, the millions of death threats issued. No other major culture or religious group would react in such a way.
Islam should be grateful the west has grown up. If we had the mentality of the Arab states we would have bombed the entire Muslim world into the stone age years ago.
Large pieces of it wouldn't have a single living thing (including bacteria) wandering around on them by now. The sheer number of neutron bombs dropped would be staggering.
