i'd start to crap myself if something costs more than a couple thousand. also, it has to be worth that much.. at most i'd drop 5k on a suit, but that's really the limit.

after that it just becomes logical to buy more of a cheaper version. besides, i wouldn't spend a lot on something as easy to damage as wool. (sort-of-wool if you will)

Makes me wonder if Loro Piana would custom make versions of their clothes. If it was too baggy (I like my clothes slim), I would get it custom made.

If you make $30,000,000 a year, that sweatshirt is... what .1% of your gross income?
So that's no different than the person making $80K/year buying one for $80.
And the $80K/year person probably has much less discretionary income, so it's a much dumber purchase for them.

If I had that kind of disposable income I'd probably get stuff with a better utility value that simply cannot be gotten for cheaper. Since you can get clothing that is equivalent for much cheaper it just makes no sense. It's kinda like buying a used car vs a new one, even if I had lot of money I'd have a lot of trouble justifying new. I would just buy newer used models than what I buy now, like the last year's model.

30k could do a lot of house projects or do 1 project pretty epicly well. Though really if I was rich I probably would just contract out stuff like that, so I'd probably put 30k into getting one project such as the basement finished professionally.
