30% off previously viewed DVDs @ Blockbuster starting tomorrow (YMMV)

I don't know if this is a nationwide sale, but the lady at my local Blockbuster (Lake Oswego, OR) told me that starting tomorrow, previously viewed DVDs are 30% off. They had a good selection when I was in there, with several shelves ful of dozens of different movies. I saw some copies of Spider-Man, Attack of the Clones, Ice Age, Dog Soldiers, The One, The Royal Tenenbaums, Gosford Park, and lots of other good ones. Might be worth checking out since most of the movies are already $10-$15. They also had some DVD players (no-name brand, starts with an A but not Apex) for $69.99, but I doubt those will be on sale too (although that would be a killer deal).

I have spent more time at Blockbuster in the last couple weeks than I've spend in my whole life. Got in on buy 2 get 1 free for Xbox and Gamecube (is 2 get 1 free still going on?)

Now I gotta go see if they got some decent deals on $14-15 that will be down to $10-11! Hope this 30% deal is around me

Our local BB has the signs out already and a smaller inventory of DVDs. Didn't see anything dealwise for the games. The best deal for DVD was Gosford Park at $6.99....if your taste leans that way.

Just got back from BB here in AZ. Picked up Crocodile Hunter for $9.10, also got The New Guy and The Rookie for $7 each. Not bad I think. Hot deal on receipts, BB gives you 87 of em for one frickin' purchase. Anyways, the deal is nationwide.

Yeah it's nationwide 30% off used DVDs and VHS. Still buy 2 get 1 free on the games. Blockbusters always pull the previously viewed movies on Sundays, but don't always put them out right away so ask if they have any behind the counter...there's a good chance they might.

Plus its 2 for $2 on Mike and Ike (normal, cherry cola or buttered popcorn).

Thanks. I limited myself to the normally-$9.99 titles at BB, because $7 is about all I can mentally justify to buy a DVD that has been fondled/abused/scuffed by others. Call me a tightwad bastard. I got Sexy Beast, In the Bedroom, and The Royal Tenenbaums (Criterion Edition). They already had a few used copies of Goldmember ($14.99), Stuart Little 2, and some other very fresh titles on the rack, also. Was hoping for Brotherhood of the Wolf...no luck.

Sexy Beast is one of my favorite movies ever! Ben Kingsley is a stud and was robbed of the Oscar. Just my two cents. BTW, this is a great deal.

well, in my experience 4 weeks...a month, is the lifespan. If you are a good customer, ( I mean if your face is well known in the store) I have been able to get them to yank vids off the shelf and sell them to me earlier than they are scheduled. Warning..this can be at a higher price than used at other places!!! Make sure there is a deal like this one going on!!!

But I did pick up "Vanilla Sky" for $6.99 plus tax. I don't even like that move that much, but for that price....you can't afford NOT to buy it. I might go back tomorrow and pick up "Spy Game."

Spy Game is a cool movie but don't buy it if you have a Toshiba DVD player. For some reason there is a bug and you can't turn off the subtitles on a Toshiba player.

this is a good deal to quickly build a dvd collection for a good price. i picked up both 'an evening with kevin smith' and 'ali' for $14. going to check out a few more blockbusters in my area and see what they have. the dvd's do play perfectly.

picked up Spiderman and Star Wars II for $19 after taxes...not too shabby. May go back and get some more next week maybe Mon or Tues when they get some more out there hopefully
