Hollywood Store has a huge pile of PS2's.

They also just got their shipment of Grand Theft Auto 3 if anyone is interested.

(All were there as of 8PM last night)

Just came back from manhattan. Mid town location seems to have a few blue PS2...you have to ask really nicely tho.

BTW...can ppl quantify which type of PS2? Blue PS2 or Red PS2 (with GT3)

Here's the list of stuff I've gotten since this deal was posted:

(1) PS2 console
(1) PS2 controller
(2) 8MB Memcard
(1) DVD remote
(6) PS2 games (MGS2, Starfighter, Capcom Vs. SNK2, Dynasty Warriors 3, SSX, Guilty Gear X)
(2) CDs (Bush - Golden State, Shakira - Laundry Service)

I wanted to get XBOX plus games but none were in stock so I opted for PS2.

Here's a small list of things I've gotten from other AT deals on this forum during this month:
(1) Logitech Z560 for $114 shipped (finally got these babies yesterday)
(1) Lexmark X83 all-in-one machine for $129 ($200 retail)
(2) Iomega 12x10x32 for $39.99 each (there's a rebate for $50 back heheh)

Conclusion: I have never saved so much, and spent so much money in so little time.

All thanks to Anandtech Hot Deals forums. You guys help make me a poorer man everytime I visit this forum.

Happy Holidays to you all!

Thanks to the original poster.
I have hauled 6 consoles out of the Chicago store for friends and family since the promo began.
Stock update for Chicagoland.
The Virgin store on Michigan has X-Box and PS2 as of 10pm Friday night.
They had about 6 PS2 behind the counter and an unknown quantity of X-Box in back.
I asked if I was purchasing the last one, they said they had some more in back.
BTW, you have to buy the X-Box bundle
Console, 2 games of your choice, extra controller, and a memory unit.
Total $511 before discount.
PS2 selection is not that good. No GTA 3.
PM out.

Bang4DaBuc: Get a life -- Stop making excuses for people who don't get what they want. everyone here has limitations of some kind. Any people who get anywhere in this country do it because they want it bad enough to make sacrifices and work hard at it. No one ever gets anything by complaining all the time about crying about how unfair things are. YOur view is typical of many liberal minded people in this country. You want to put limits on the hard working, ambitious people to somehow help out these poor, unfortuneate people. I have sold a few hundred Xbox, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance and PS2 products over the past few months. And I didn't have to get there first thing in the morning, or afternoon, or wait around until things were unpacked. You make calls all the time, talk to as many people as you can at the stores, read these posts and others, and then do it all again, and again, and again, . . . . . . . . and again. Eventually you learn the shipping times, dates and so forth of different stores. I went to the extreme for a lot of purchases, but someone just wanting something for themselves could find it with a little effort. I've walked into many stores and seen up to 25 gamecubes and 17 Xboxes just sitting there. They would not last long, but there were not people lined up to buy them out all at once either. early bird gets the worm, you snooze you loose . . . so is life. YOu can complain about it, or get with the program . . .::disgust:

Let's keep posting store updates!

As of Friday Night, neither costa mesa nor anaheim had any PS2s or XBoxes in.

No idea when the next shipment is, but when it hits, I'm there.

Was at the Burbank store at midnight tonight (last customer) picking up a PS2 game and noticed they had like two dozen PS2 systems out on the floor. They open at 10 AM today. Attack!

Helpful tip, BTW, don't be too eager like I was to swipe your Blue card before they take off the 30%, it finalizes the transaction right away and prints out the receipt! Oops. But they voided it and it was all good (I hope).

shut up man...i'm sick and tired of you lamers saying "if you want it bad enough you should be able to get it by now" blah blah blah. I live two hours away from my local virgin megastores in NY, and obviously I can't go there every day, and even if I call beforehand it will be sold out by the time I get there. So i'm whining..who cares? I doubt anyone does. Maybe people who want just one damn system should finally do something and complain to whoever's in charge of the promotional programs at American Express, I know I will. Just as you people don't care about the people who want one, why the hell should we care about the people who want 50+ consoles?

Ummm, yeah, go call up Amex, like they're gonna listen to someone under 18 that's not a cardholder bitch about the system...

BTW, you might have more luck talking in english, not wannabe internet abbreviations

I'm probably going to one of the stores in NYC this week, before I go I was wondering:

Which store is most likely to have the PS2 in stock? People keep mentioning that when they call up they're told that nothing will be in for a week and a half to a month. But I can't tell if this is in reference to the XBox or PS2, since everywhere I go around the city they don't seem to have a problem getting stocking the PS2.

Thanks for all of the updates so far.

just thought i'd add

PsychoAndy: if you feel they won't do anything, why do you care? you shouldn't have anything to worry about at all in that case. (though I think your little remark was intended to prevent others and myself to even bother with this, so that you can reap even more profits if nothing ends up being inforced this late into the "game"). whatever, if I get anything out of it, great, if I don't, oh well, but that won't stop me from trying.

you just have to be there at the right time...........no one knows when they are gonna have more in.

I always got no luck trying to get some at the one in SF, people here are very competitive.

It all comes down to one thing.... greed. Stepping all over the next guy to get what you want, with no regard for anyone else. I hope one day, you guys will be on the receiving end just so you know what it's like.

And for those who already jumped on this deal and plan to reply by saying "I wouldn't care if someone bought all of them" or "Early bird get's the worm", would you be saying that if you had walked into the store several times and found your visit to be a waste of time?

BTW, I spoke to one of the virgin reps and even she agrees with me saying that there should be a limit of one or two per customer. She said one day, someone had bought 20 and for the rest of the afternoon, she had to tell people who traveled 1-2 hours that they were out of stock.

My $0.02 - I HAVE been on the receiving end several times. Like the CompUSA book deal, a guy was checking out with EVERY copy of EVERY sale book, and when I went to talk to him, he blew me off. I asked if he was from Anandtech, and he kinda mumbled yeah and turned away. Didn't offer me a single one of his 50+ books.

On the other hand, I have bought quite a few of the PS2s, but have always left at least a couple in stock, and I have offered to help others on the board get what they need. The problem is not with people who buy a bunch, IMHO, but rather with the ones that buy everything, and don't share when confronted about it.

I went to the store in Times Square last night, 12/14. They just got a shipment of PS2s in. I wanted to buy two. The guy I went to, a tall guy on the 2nd floor in the back, refused to sell me two units at the 30%, only one. He also tried to tell me that I could only buy it as a package with an extra controller, two games, and two memory card for $499. I told him I only wanted the unit, he eventually just sold me one unit by itself. I brought it out to my car went to another cashier and purchased the 2nd unit.

They had no Gamecubes or Xboxes, but they had the Gameboy Advance. Their assortment of game system accessories was extremely limited.

Then she was an idiot. There is a clearly defined limit of $5000, and 20*300*(tax) is well over $6000. She shouldn't have sold so many to the person!
