Damn, I just called the Anaheim, CA virgin and they said that they receieved 6 units today, sold out in an hour. DAMN THEM! I called in the morning and they said that they didn't have any in!

They had 3 xboxes when I called the Costa Mesa store this afternoon. I was there 20 minutes later and the last one just got sold when I entered the store. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! If I only got there just 1 minute earlier!!! Drat the luck.

Damn them at costa mesa too! LOL I am going to be at one of those stores next wednesday at 10 am and will wait around till they bring em out. This is driving me crazy, makes me want to resort to EGAY.

Went to the Hollywood Store last night - Sold out the last xbox in front of me, they say they might get a shipment on friday, or "sometime next week"

They also have 100 GTA 3's on order

I plan on calling them everyday until they give me a definite ship date hear in teh city...They r probably tired of ppl calling them..They should just get new shipements in every day and ppl will be happy...

Any1 that goes to any of the NY stores, should post what happens and let us know....

i've been calling everday for the last two weeks. (this is for the nyc stores for the xbox)
Yesterday I went to both stores but no dice. I asked a couple of people when they would get them in. They either had no clue or said to check back next week. I think its best to call everyday. Also, the store clerk told me its better to check in the afternoons because it usually takes the morning to unpack all their shipments and tell the sales people that its in.
keep this forum updated if you guys find anything new.

fyi, i think i might just buy halo and an extra controller for 30% off and then suck it up and pay full price at toys r us or something.. (but then i would have to bow my head in shame for not being a real bargain hunter)

Why do I get upset everytime I see a post like this?

Because there is always that handful of people that can only think about themselves. From looking at the replies generated by this post, I'd say that almost everyone who wants a PS2 would be able to buy one if it weren't for those that are obtaining the systems for the sole purpose of selling them for profit.

I already got one for myself, but my friend has been searching for a few weeks. Each time they get a shipment, there's always a few individuals that pick up more than they need. I don't mind those people that pick up one or two for friends, but there's no excuse for walking out with half the stock.

And those of you using the travel cost recovery alibi are full of it. The 30% savings more than covers any trip from any place, unless you fly in by plane.

A 30% off sale isn't any good if only a small percentage of people can benefit from it.

That's just my opinion...

The Denver store got 4 xboxes this morning and sold them out in about 5 minutes Can you believe it !!!

The CSR I spoke to (Ann) said they are probably not going to get any more before Christmas ... this just plain sucks !!! I thought Microsoft said that there will be about 600,000 Xbox systems at launch and 100,000 units per week from then on until the end of the year ! What is happening to all these Xboxes ???? No store in my area (Boulder, CO) seems to have them in stock !

Well, anyone looking for PS2s, let me know. My store has had a bunch every time I go. I would say $250 shipped UPS insured ground, limit 1 per person.

To cut down on questions ahead of time, I only have 1 heatware, several ebay references. (EDiT on heat, edlin303 on eBay) I will only do pre-pay, no CCs. Paypal address must ve verified if paying with paypal. I will not be making money on this. $300*1.08*.7=$227 + shipping, box, packing materials, and a trip to Virgin and to UPS. I will not take the payment 'till I verify local stock, to avoid problems.

Sorry for the list of rules, but I've gotten a lot of odd requests in the past. PM me if you've made it this far and want one.

I've been calling that store every day these last 2 weeks. Someone said they would have a shipment today (thursday), called at ten and they were soldout. Sounded like they held back some, the person that answered the phone said "You could hangout at the store this afternoon".

I live (in Davis) near the Sacramento Virgin. I called yesterday morning when the store opened to ask if they had any Gamecubes, which they replied they didn't. So I call this morning at 10, right when they open only to have them tell me they sold out yesterday!!! I guess they get their shipments anytime during the day. But I was lucky enough to get the Xbox bundle earlier this week when they only received 4 of them. I was the last one to get it that morning. So I plan on just calling all through out the day and hoping that when they do have it, I can drove over their in time to actually get one. Anyone else know how Virgins shipment system with xboxes and gamecubes works?

ps - seems to me that they have a good amount of PS2's at the Sacramento Virgin. Everytime I go in, they have at least 3-5 just sitting on the wall. No GT3 bundles though.

I know there are a bunch of whiners like you out there that are going to flame me for picking up so many units, but if I hold back to save some for your friend, do you think the next person is going to do the same? Ever heard of early bird gets the worm? Like I said, if your friend wanted one bad enough, he'd get one. I've had to call Virgin many, many times before I could go get these units. I've done the work, and I have no shame picking up extra units. Its like when the thread first started and one guy posted that he got 17 units in one trip, I didn't sit there and think "that selfish bast@rd!", I thought, "damn, that guy was one step ahead of me"...and I guess your friend is still putting his shoes on. This is a HOT DEALS forum, and you know that every once in a while a real HOT DEAL comes around and by the time some people find out and try to order, its already too late. Now how many of those people who got in on the deal do you think bought only one? Get real. There are plenty of deals that I wish I could've gotten in on and didn't, but don't knock others who did just because you're a sore loser.

If there was an unlimited supply of these systems, I wouldn't care if you buy 100. Since there is a limit however, every extra system that one of you guys buy is one less for someone who may really want one. I've seen many posts for people who have called or visited the store countless number of times seeking one, but couldn't obtain it.

Also, many people have work and/or school so the oppurtunity to be present between the time the store restocks and the time the units sell out is very small. I was the first one in virgin megastore the day of the sale (11/22) and I could have cleaned out the inventory, but there is this thing called Being Considerate.

Alot of people want this system and can't dish out the 300 beans, so this sale was a break for them. But by being oppurtunists, the people who bought 15 units took this break away.

And on a side note, I don't really care if my friend gets the system or not because he can afford it at 300... I just used him as an example.

Well, you do know that maybe some people decided to buy them at their legitamate price. Besides, the way i see it is that this deal has been going on since november, if they didnt get it then, then they dont deserve any now. In addition, the OTown Virgin Megastore has a 3 person limit, which is prolly what all the other stores needed to implement, to prevent ppl from actually buying 23 of them (5k limit) at a time.
