I can't say for certain since I don't have this monitor, but I am almost 100% positive that this monitor has the same panel that's in all the new 22" WS's available around $300 from almost every manufacturer (Samsung, BenQ, Dell, Viewsonic -- notice identical specs). The panel in question is a Chimei Optronics TN Film panel (claims 8bit/16.7m color output, but is actually a 6bit/16.2m panel with HiFRC). Every single one I have seen displays similar results: decent overall display, but the color reproduction makes watching video and photoshop work impossible (even games suffer from an extremely 'palleted' look). But for a general web/office display, this would work great (or any of the other new models based off of similar panels).

I have this monitor and its great. Unless you're a a serious graphics editor then you shouldn't be considering a tn monitor in the first place. The main downside about this monitor is when i kneel down and look at it from below, the viewing angle is atrocious, dark colors become way darker. When i stand up and look the monitor from above, the viewing is still somewhat good. Again, if you plan on gaming and watching movies on this, its a good monitor. BTW 6bit Hi-frc is still much better than 6 bit without hi-frc from what i've read..

EDIT: btw i find the color excllent, even much better than my 8 year old IBM aptiva 15.5" (viewable area) crt...
