Yeah if you're a 10 year old boy. It was so devoid of anything except fancy visuals that it felt like a 30 minute movie.

Is the film 300 any good?

his post, and Conky's post below yours, show that they are uncomfortable watching a movie that realistically depicts the clothing, or lack there of, that they wore to battle.
Spartan's were extremely proud of their bodies, and dressed in that way.
Are you serious?
Spartans did not wear that kind of clothing.

could be considered close to what they actually wore. Not necessarily tight black leather underwear, but just as skimpy: pic
looks as if they might have worn very little to battle, at least according to that statue. since very little was recorded in Sparta, its really hard to say any one thing for sure unless they actually wrote about it.

I love people who come on here and start throwing "homophobe! That's how they dressed!" around.
One last time: Spartans wore nearly full plate armor made of bronze. No little diapers.
As for wandering around back home in sparta, I don't know, but the battle outfit was woefully off.
In addition, for every Spartan Peer there would have been at least two squire/helots with him. They kept his kit, helped him arm, carried his ******, dress his wounds, and, during a battle, support the line. This could mean either fighting alongside the Spartans (though not as part of the phalanx), but there primary function was to supply fresh spears to the Spartans when they broke theirs.
The movie had some fun fight scenes, but don't expect to see the story of thermopylae.

1. The movie was based on a comic book. Take a look at the comic book and look at how the guys were dressed.
2. It's not supposed to be based on facts. Again, it's based on a comic book.
FOR THE CLUELESS PEOPLE - THIS MOVIE IS NOT A DOCUMENTARY AND IS NOT BASED ON FACTS. IT IS BASED ON A FVCKING COMIC BOOK.

Maybe it's that I just don't like Frank Miller, I thought Sin City had the same feeling, style over substance and character.
