$300 to spend on monitor. Need Advice

I have about $300 (shipping included) to spend on a monitor. It has to be at worst .26 dpi, at least 1600x1200max res, at least 75ghz refresh rate.

Right now I'm looking at Samsung SYNCMASTER 950P 19INCH, 18.0 viewable, . 26mm dot pitch, 1600 x 1200 85hz ($ 239 + $40.40 shipping)

I don't really know my way around monitors, so any suggestions would help a lot. Thanks.

Just a note, you might do better to go to your local computer store/best buy/circuit city and pick up a monitor...you'll save a bunch on shipping.

For 300 you should be able to get a medium quality 19"

I personally like the KDS line of monitors and they are cheaper than most.

But yeah the best way is to look at them at you local best buy

With $300 you could either go with a very nice 17" or a decent 19" (depending on the features you want most). If you want a completely flat screen surface (not talking about Flat Panel Displays here, but regular flat-CRT's), then you want either a Trinitron tube or some variation of it (like the Diamondtron tube I have in my monitor). I personally love flat-CRT displays, but some people don't like them. In any case, monitors are just a matter of preference, go to best buy/etc. and just play around with a few. I'm sure you'll find one that you really like

You might want to check this out. Samsung 950P I just did this deal. I have been doing the research on a 19" monitor for at least a month now. I feel very comfortable with my decision.

Before you go waltzing in to your local store to buy a monitor to save on s/h, check out egghead.com. They have $6.95 flat shipping rate on monitors which would be much less then the tax you would pay at a B/M Best Buy. So the trick is check the prices at egghead and price compare to those at Best Buy and buy from the cheaper place. That's what I do. BTW I like the KDS model line because it is less expensive also. I have a 19" at home myself. As an example, egghead.com has the KDS VS-19SN which I think meets all of your requirements for $224.99 right now and shipped that's only $231.94. Much less than your $300 cap. Just letting you know. They also have your Samsung for $294.94 shipped which isn't a bad price either.

if u like to gamble, monitorsonsale.com has some nice trinitrons 21" around 300, and they give u a good year of warranty...
