DAMN IT!

Now I really have problems.

When I touch my PSU (20 PIN power connect) AT ALL!!! The system loses power.

:|

Now I don't know if this one has a bad connector, or it's the PSU.

Switching the PSU now to see if its the connector!

BTW:

4x250 Posted

6x250 did not

9x240 runs P95 all night!!!!!

WTF!!!!!

SAME exact thing, reguardless of voltage!

It is NOT the CPU, and it can''t be power considering I only have my 6800 in there with 1 HDD now.

!!!!!

What do you say it's not the CPU?

*EDIT* I say it is... I, as well as many others, have a CBBID and HTT won't go above ~245 unless you use a rediculously low multiplier that keeps the clock speed under about 1500 MHz.

Well switched PSU's and it still didn't do the trick. (Overclocking) board connector seems fine.

I guess Jeff is right and 245 and above may not be possible.

Feel bad that I will end up RMA'ing a good board then.. Sigh, now to search for a new CPU I guess.

Sorry to hear that

And I agree it must be the CPU, now that you've eliminated mobo and PS.

This is interesting in it shows that with the ondie mem controller the CPU itself can limit your HTT regardless of the multiplier setting. That explains why people are getting very different HTT max numbers on the same board.

Well, maybe now you can wait a week and swap it for the Venice core But I might step up to a 3200+ or a 3500+, because the recent winnie 3000's seem to indicate that AMD is much more agressively binning.

I'm kinda bummed I RMA'd a good board, now I will have to pay to ship it back as well.

I think I might actually keep the orginal, now that I saw that power outage issue..

Anyone have a Athlon 64 for sale!?!?!

2.4 or higher.

Just wait a couple weeks for a Venice.

I think I can get my hands on a 3000+ CBBID 05/03

Just curious to find out what it can do.

Might swap them and see, very possible it could do 2.4

or very possible it is a waste of time!

Should I ?

Or just wait for Venice?

I think i Might keep my original Neo2 as well.

That power issue was odd, even though it hasn't done it again ( and the connection seemed solid )

Guess that original RMA came back to bite me in the ass...

Since I figured my first board was bad, i kept the second one.. Everything works fine, or so i thought..

I hadn't installed any PCI cards until last night, and now I know that NONE of the 5 work.

Should have stayed with the original!

DAMN IT.

Is there a better board out in nForce 3?

I know, it's unreal.. Have u ever even heard of that happening? I never had a board that works perfectly, except ALL of the PCI slots do not.

I think the board is good, so i am going to get one more..

Very happy Newegg isnt giving me a hard time about it.

The funnny thing is, is that the soundcard worked in the first one, i just didn['t want to swap boards out again..

Guess that came back to get me..

I've heard the same thing about epox. DFI did make a NF3 for the 754 slot, not the 939 though :-(.

What "hidden" BIOS

Boot time is EXTREMELY long.

When I take out my second HDD it boots right up..

Everything is detected quickly @ POST, but at the XP loading screen the bar passes about 20 times before the HDD LED is even flashed at all.. Then boots RIGHT up!

LBBLE 0516

Had a Winchester running 240x9 in a Neo 2 platty.

Very disappointing results for this Venice chip.

1.5v (BIOS) + 5.0%
2.8Vdimm
Cas3
Using the 3:2 (133mhz) divider.

CAN'T even get it to post at 245x9

How much voltage is needed?

WOW.

Cannot post past 241. Very similar with the Winnie.

Have now used 3 different PSU's.

1 stick of ram vs. 2

Going to switch from this 1.8 BIOS and try a little bit less on the Vdimm.

Going to try the 100mhz divder as well now.

Ok, i have to collect myself, cause im flipping out!

CUrrently at:

1.62-1.6V
2.7Vdimm
100mhz divider.

300x9 = 2700mhz

Priming now for about 10 minutes..

I don't know how confortable I am with 1.62v though.

Right now temps are at 55C.

WOW!!

That 133-100mhz divider made all the difference.

Wow dude. 3 Neo2 plattys :| that. I went though 3 different A94 939 boards all differnt brands before I found one to post above 250HTT. Its very parcarious at the NF3/via agp level, I don't know why, but even MSI users (said the be best 939 agp board) were lucky to get a board over 280HTT stable. A lot of this is gone now with NF4.

BJC are you saying board won't post 300x9 with the 133 memetting? D told me you are using PC3200 Hyper X that's not "low end" by any means.
