That is what I was telling you...It is a application job bordering on incompetence....

It may or may not help but if it is like I assume then a good even application across the core with some AS% should help reduce temps a bit..Maybe a nize Zalman HSF would be nice or a beter fan could help as well if that doesn't do that much for you....

nice chip you got there...

hoping for the same results with mine... but i have a 3200+ coming...

hoping for 2.7 to 2.8 with 1.4 to 1.5 volts (optimistic)...

Thanks!

I'm KINDA confident that this chip has 2.9 in it.. I don't know if it's on 1.55v though.. I could run 1.6 through it, but it's not worth what I would gain.. So far it SEEMS 315x9 is stable, so it's either my chipset is just getting smoking hot, or the board has hit the limit..

I really don't want to take it apart for 50mhz either.. But I am curious about 2.9ghz as well!

Any good chipset coolers out there? Not too pricey?

Actually I would like to get in the 320-330 range so I can run a higher effective DDR anyhow!

I guess I was lucky cause I can hit 333 stable but 335 would not go.....I haven't done anything to mine...Still stock NB chipset....If I had got a venice 3000+ I would have broke it down and got a nice HSF.....

Go to SVC.com and check out their chipset coolers...

Good luck Shim on your OC.....

I am ...I was tinkering with my setup and got just a bit more than I had (300X9)... I guess it just had to wait until the thermal compound settled in, but I was simply stuck at that for the longest time... I now have hit (almost stable) what is in my sig.. (317X9)... on AIR...

I am because I did this with an LBBLE 516. Just my dumb luck I guess WOOT!

but good overclock as well, way to go... now.. lets see if I can sqeeze a bit more from my Sempy

Well I personally think this chip has 2.9ghz WITHOUT needed 1.6v, but I can't get above 314-315HTT without my board crapping out..

So ill settle with the lowER voltage and 2.8ghz

But Nice OC!

I agree with you. I think my chip should be able to do 3.0GHz... I have hit what I have on air, and with stock voltages across the board.

My limiting factor at this point is the motherboard too. I cant get past 318 without the board crapping on the memory (beep code) even when the memory is set at a 100 divider and the timings are as loose as the board will allow. And voltage doesnt seem to help the situation...

Oh well, Ill eventually replace the board and CPU with something faster and better in a few years...

rocking 2800Mhz on my 3000+ with retail HS/Fan on DFI LanParty... could go higher Im sure but RAM is holding me back (cant get past 206Mhz with acceptable timings. Currently @ 2-3-2-6. 45C under 100% load. Best CPU buy I've ever had no question.
