Jazz 300 provides a 300-watt output for 30 minutes with a 500-watt surge.

300-watt output for 30 minutes? Is that normally what inverters do? I thought you could run them forever as long as your battery is charged?

Interested but confused.

Well, the power has to come from somewhere. How can you run it forever? If you use it, it's going to drain the juice from your battery.

Its assuming you leave your battery off when you hook it up. The 30 minutes is an estimate on how long an average car battery will last without your car on. Your Minutes May Vary. Of course if you leave your car on, it will go for much longer.

The runtime seems kinda high for what I consider the average battery. You would need a 700+amp battery. Most cars come with smaller capacity batteries. For $22 shipped, it is a good value

It has 2 outlets and comes with both the cig lighter adapter and alligator clips.

This deal has been going for awhile now and is good until 6-30.

Confused, but not that confused.

The website shows it as one prong. If the store is for a 2 prong then is is hot. They easily go for double the price!

Doesn't the inverter get it's power from the alternator when the car is running? So you can run something forever as long as you have gas correct?

Exactly. I had previoulsy purchased a 140w output/250w max surge on clearance at Target for 9.94 but 2 weeks ago when I saw this deal, I returned it and jumped on 2 of these.

Regarding the 300W for 30 minutes.

Read further down. It will only give you 240 Watts continously.
This would appear to be a matter of heat buildup if it can only sustain
that output for 30 minutes.

I have built telecom equipment test beds using Xantrex
Programmable power supplies. Those supplies were very good
and very solid. I would suspect that there is probably a good
margin included in that estimate. Ambient temperature and
cooling will no doubt affect the actual performance.

I will be buying one or two at my local Microcenter to play with.

I picked one up today at my local MicoCenter B&M @ $15.74. It reads Mfg. Part No. 852-0300 SKU 970202--which is the same as their website. It has two 3-prong outlets.

So, their website must have a typo (one outlet). It's advertised in their newspaper "save 55%" Reg. $34.99. Ends 6/30.

Got one..... don't really need it, but I've always wanted one. At this price, it's a great deal.

Aw man, I jumped on the bandwagon and bought one. I've always wanted an inverter, but never wanted to pay $60 or more. Anyways, thanks for the deal.

After tax, it came out to $23.52, just fyi.

Here are some pictures of the waveform output from the Jazz inverter; some devices may be picky about it, but most should have no problems. Running a 60W bulb, the current draw was in the range of 5A from the 12V input-
RMS voltage output was about 114VRMS.

I think I'll check it out. I paid 19.99 for a 140W inverter at Fry's last year. It works well but it's only 140W.

this is a great find! this will go great on those long road trips with my lappie!

and yes, presumably you can use it indefinitely running off the cigarette lighter while the car is running b/c it is using the alternator, but actual usage may vary according to the load put on the inverter.
