A whole bunch of games limit the frame rate to 30 during the cut scenes.
I agree with railven here, high frame rates feel weird for story telling. Just take a look at how weird is the blending at high refresh TVs. It's gross.
Even with movie making, the filming procedure will take special precautions to avoid moving/panning the camera too fast, because the low framerate is a type of handicap when it comes to camera movements. So when you look at the nuances and details, there is so much more to consider.
probably sitting far away. when playing them closer like on a monitor you can see everything get blurry and judder when looking around. plus its MUCH worse with a mouse than with a controller.I never really had a problem with 30fps on consoles.

then you really have trouble with your vision. 30 fps is a choppy mess when sitting right in front of it. the ONLY reason I put up with it in PS3 games is for the exclusives. My PS3 is hooked up to the same monitor as my PC.
A mouse driven game exposes the latency included with 30 FPS a lot more than a controller. The mouse is more of an extension of your body, so every little bit of delay is much more pronounced. Enough so that I get nauseated at 30 FPS with a mouse, even 60 FPS, it takes about 80+ FPS before I no longer get nauseated. My PS3 is hooked up to the same monitor as my PC.
it depends on the game as some feel like crap at 60 fps and even worse then some do at 30-40 fps. 30-40 is ok with controller or slow paced game except for looking around and then I get a little sick feeling seeing stuff judder and shake.A mouse driven game exposes the latency included with 30 FPS a lot more than a controller. and yeah lol at 30 fps. http://www.testufo.com/#test=framerates
lol, an apologist for low frame rates, amazing
He clearly likes the blur of cinema.
Games don't have blur, so it doesn't work that way and of course input latency is a large factor as well.
What a hilarious article.
Also, in the comments someone said the human eye cannot see the difference between 30 and 60 FPS. lolwut? I can tell the difference just fine.
yeah all you have to do is look at the ufo or any other side by side comparison to see that 30 fps is stuttery crap compared to 60 fps. What a hilarious article.

They have to do damage control since the 'next gen' consoles are unable to do 1080p at 60fps.
