In any event, the only input is DVI-D.
It would be nice to have display port or hdmi input as well.

Does ccfl means that unit is essentially 5 years old?
Also beware of aggressive matte cover. I had one monitor that picture quality was ruined by it. Everything was too bold and prism effect was very noticeable. It ruins hi-dpi effect.

CCFL is generally superior to LED...as far as color accuracy is concerned. LED is only used because it's cheaper and uses less power. Unless we are talking full array color LED's.

The mentions of a bad matte coating are what dissuade me. Without a good review and photos I couldn't buy it.

They use a single direct input to reduce input lag. Using additional inputs and controller logic introduces more delay. This is also partially how they reduce the cost (these used to be $1,000+ for like 10 years, only recently have we seen these prices). Also, HDMI is not capable of supporting this resolution/refresh. Well maybe 2.0 is now, not sure...(are there even any devices with 2.0?).

I use DVID on my monitor all the time and play BD movies on it all the time....

This is my monitor, made in Korea and supposed to have a LG display in it and has just a DVI input and play movies on it with no problems...so I cant see this one having a problem, also if it did people would be saying so in the reviews of it I think.

Great deal for that resolution. While I paid $70 more to get a (~1 yo) U3011, I'd be all over this if I needed a second one. So much room for activities.

And yeah, do beware the antiglare coating. I've never had a non-matte monitor/laptop so it doesn't bother me, but if you're used to glossy (or nothing) then make sure you read the return policy carefully...

Too bad the power input doesn't use a standard kettle lead.

I've often thought the same thing. As phones and tablets push higher and higher quad mega ultimate extreme 4k 8k 16k whatever displays, laptops and 'regular' monitors have seemed to remain in somewhat of a time warp. Most seem to still be stuck topping out at 1080p, though it's finally starting to change.

Android and ios have about 1 billion of users, so there is mass market for such resolutions, which drives down price per unit.On the other side, such monitors are still niche market.
