unless this is a new prof., he should know if there's a big group of people that cheated. The avg. for an exam doesn't change too much from year to year, if all of a sudden a bunch of people got high scores, the prof. should realize something is up. Don't know about your school but the avg. at our school were about 50/100 ... so lots of people scoring high is a definite flag.

Actually something similar happened in our EM class, the prof. just said she knew some people cheated, so this test is worth only 10% ... we'll have another midterm and that'll be worth 20% ... if you know your stuff, it's all good

if not, why did you only get a C. Maybe you can find some people to study with. And don't you guys have to take a entrance exam for the next class. Our EE98( which is the easiest EE intro class) is followed by an entrance exam, if you don't pass, you can't move on, even if you got an A in the class. so let those guys get their A's now, there's no way they'd get through the major.

on the other hand, if they did affect your grade, you should report it. you should not have to suffer for their actions.

experience has taught me that the ones who cheat in school are the ones who are devious enough to find a way to beat out the honest guys for the jobs, the promotions and the girls.

That was my Circuit Analysis professor when I took the course at a local community college over the summer (before I dropped engineering and transferred to business).

I was just about to post a story about her... still kind of pisses me off. I remember she caught these two kids cheating during an exam, gave them both 0's ... but didn't even kick them from the class, I think they wound up with a C overall. (Unrelated rant, she gave me a zero for that exam as well until I explained to her I was on the opposite side of the room.. I guess because I was asian and the two kids were asian as well.. bad memory I guess).

I was literally in shock, at most universities that would've been grounds for expulsion (they were passing answers back and forth to each other during the exam).

In regards to the cheating itself ... I'm sorry man. It sucks hardcore, and all I can say is they will get theirs later on (especially in EE).

I have no idea if it's actually her. I gathered from the original post that the course is called egr251, and a quick google search returned a link to Northern Virginia Community College. Since Northern Virginia is listed as the thread starter's city, I assume that it's a match. Looking at the the syllabus, it appears that the material covered is similar to that of the thread starter as well. Since Rassa Rassai is the instructor for the Spring 2007 semester, I assume it's correct.

Cheaters will burn in hell. Period. I never had a problem with it (I'm a freshman) until I walked into my history class and heard everyone discussing the essays. The final was WW2, which I'm a pro at, so I had no problems, but knowing that they had to cheat to make an A made me sick...I hope karma really is a bitch...
