deal may have ended. Does anyone know how to change the settings from say 480p to 780p? I have gone through the whole menu and looked at the manual, cant find anything.......

It depends on the input. If you have a HD input (cable box, PC, etc) then it will go to 780.

I am using a HDMI cable along with my HD DVR cable box, and all the HD channels come in at 480P. When using Xbox 360 through component cables, I get 1080i though.

you probably have to change settings on the cable box. Call your cable provider, you may need a new box.

Try compoment cables for your cable box.I have not tried HDMI, but the components detects 1080i with my cable box.

I have this TV & Comcast hooked up via HDMI (you can choose 720p or 1080i on the box). Great Picture, but even at the lowest volume setting it's pretty loud. I also have it hooked up to an HTPC via VGA & it has some tearing. I have an Xbox360 with VGA Cables & I also geat tearing on it, Xbox360 is fine over component though. I got it for about $540 back around thanksgiving (with free shipping).

Yeah, A/V inputs aren't the greatest. The xbox's component cables are a must.

I have Comcast too, they gave me box DCT3412. I dont see anywhere I can adjust the settings. What box do you have?

Now I have all the movie channels, but channels 2-106 will not show up. What the hell is going on, all I did was upgrade to HD?

I had a chance talking to one of the BB Magnolia (HT) sale guys in Nov 06. One of the training
sessions BB sent him to, his instructor who works for one of the big TV distributors in the US told him, pricing for lcd TV would drop another 20-30% by end of 2007.
I think he's right thus far...Prices are dropping well below the level of a year ago by at least 20% if not more.
Plasma TVs are refusing to be out sold by its counterpart. Its price is dropping even faster than LCD since its price was high to begin with.

Side note: Just saw a Plasma 42" (Vizio, 720p) @ Costco b&m for $1000.00 + tax.
