Thanks. I'll need to check this out after missing the Olivea from CC a few weeks ago. I'll start to dig up some reviews on this tonight.

I have the Olevia "232v" in my bedroom, and I like it alot, nice clean appearance and screen. If this 1 follows that path, it should be a solid set as well.

I think I just may have to get this... also, 2 year extended is only $50, and the 4 year is $80. And plenty in stock at local stores, so I'd pick it up and buy the extended with the cash you saved from shipping.

Do they list the true contrast ratio anywhere for these sets, 1600 is dynamic which must be different?

1080i is converted to 720.

I have this tv, it is very nice, especially for the price

I just picked this up. I went with the 4 year warranty. Came out to a little over 600. So far, just playing xbox, I'm fairly impressed. I'm having this wierd issue when when I play a normal DVD on my xbox (component cables), the screen looks like nothing is plugged in. Only one out of 3 DVDs has worked. It's kinda wierd.

PS. a 780p set can do 1080i.

Man, this sucks. I bought one from Chiefvalue two weeks ago and it arrived with 12 dead pixel lines. Now while I'm waiting for an RMA, it goes on sale locally. Crap.

Hehe. I changed my RMA into a refund at Chiefvalue and picked one up at CompUSA. I also slapped on the 4-year warranty. I have a feeling it will come in handy with this set. Olevia's support is not very fast.

I got the 4 year as well. It's through CompUSA, so that pretty much sold me on it (and not through Syntax). And it was only around $70.

LCD and plasma TVs will drop prices deep this year. TV manufacturers are pumping up 50" so all the ones smaller will be fast sell.

I can't fit a 50" in my bedroom. Trust me, I would if I could but it's just not a good idea for sake of my marriage.

Just an update, the picture for both HD and SD is great. I have Comcast HD on demand. Gorgeous... Anyways, the only downside is there is no code for the universal remote. That, and there is only one component input. That can be solved with a $20 component switcher from circuit city. Anyways, I'm really happy with this purchase (I just need cheap wall mount).

Try mountsdirect, I picked 1 up there for 50 bucks that works just fine.

Actually you can use the VGA connector as a 2nd component input. You just need a cable for it. Look up "VGA to 3 RCA component cable" on monoprice.

Just picked one up tonight. I played my xbox 360 on it and it was pretty damn good. Great deal.
