I never have understood that reasoning. An OEM cpu will last well beyond the 3 year warranty period, especially a non-OC one.
If you are going to OC, your warranty is void whether it's OEM or retail. I don't know many (any) people that buy A64's and run them stock. Chances are, the cpu is not going to be an issue if it works within the first 24 hours. Personally, I have never had a cpu failure (18 years), be it OC or stock. Also, I never use the retail HSF, so OEM is the way I have been going.
A while back, I bought an OEM Winchester 3500+ from Monarch for $252. The cheapest retail I could find anywhere was $320. No brainer. Monarch is a great place to buy OEM cpu's because they come with a 60 day warranty.
That eWiz price looks great, and according to their policy, AMD OEM cpu's can be returned up to 6 months from the invoice date for repair. Sounds pretty safe to me.
