First, are you sure that stacking the $10 off $40 and the $30/$150 will work? Second, is that rebate from TDK or is it Circuit City's promo? The mailing address is very ambiguous and could really be either mfr of cc.

The drive is supposed to be very good - It is a Plextor inside.

I just received mine today, and have a question about the rebate. Does BUY.COM supply an invoice? The rebate form says to send in a receipt... How does one do this with an online deal?

Argh, the rebate link on TDK's site now says purchased between January 1, 2001 through March 31, 2001, while the old rebate at the same link said between some time and December 31, 2000. I guess I'll have to wait until January 1 before I think about buying this, since I can't find the old rebate.

Woohoo! This is great. What TDK essentially did is gave everyone a much larger timespan they can purchase this drive. This is great news. I just cancelled my Buy.com order for this so now if my Iomega drive sucks I can just return or EB it and then get the TDK. Or sell the Iomega to a friend and buy the TDk for myself!

Any particular reason for wanting to trade your Plextor drive for the equivalent TDK burner? I'm just wondering if tehre's a feature or detail I should know that separates the two.

Second question for those who are going after the ZipCD CompUSA deal: is there a restocking fee for returning an unopened product within the time allowed by CompUSA?
