Well, I now have a Via C3 1.3Ghz and a PIII 500Mhz up. One more rig in maybe a week.

Bringing what power I can. I am going to lose 2 2000+XPs from thursday to next monday. But I am going to try and make up for it with some G4s.

Also I have another 3GHz P4 coming online soon. And maybe another 2000+ XP.

I think Slapstick and I are maxed out (for the moment). He needs to bug the "man" for more.

Slapstick: I think I am going to need a two (2) processor board at work for those taxing office apps.

Kb: Sup buddy.

Geoff: Kb turned me on to Duron's (1.8) here. There things SCREAM through D2OL candidates. Bout the same as a 2000 or 2100, and a heck of alot cheaper. D2OL doesn't seem to care much about the FSB or cache, as long as it has gHz.

I wasn't sure when I bought it (but had all sorts of stuff to put it in). I stuck it in a Gigabyte 7VRXP and it recognized it. Just above VIA 266a I believe.

I have actually been eying an ASRock mATX board based off the new SiS 741 chipset. Nice thing is it includes video. There are two different models, the K7S41GX and the K7S41, difference being the K7S41GX only supports a FBS of 333 MHzwhile as the K7S41 offers a 400 MHz bus. They both have moderate overclocking options and the price is right for both, couple with a Duron and a CoolerMaster X-Dream and your all set.

I brought one of my machines over from Seti (others to follow) and have a question.

I have 3 nodes showing from when I use to run this. Obviously doing a re-install on my rigs is going to list new nodes. Can I delete the 3 old nodes w/out losing the stats?

Only reason I want to do this is so people don't think I'm actually running 6 nodes on the stats page.

This is a good question.

There is a file called node.prp located in the Program Files\SengentD2OL\D2OL\res directory. SAVE THIS FILE! I keep most of my nodes in a directory, with subdirectories named after the node numbers, then stick a copy of each node.prp in the appropriate place.

When you want to reuse a node, install the client as usual. When it asks you to enter an email address, STOP! Then close the client (make sure it is not open in the tray). Then copy the node.prp file back in the D2OL/res directory. Fire the client back up and you are good to go.

Couple of other cool things:

1. Uncheck "Launch main window at startup" in properties.
2. Uncheck "Enable Animations" in properties. (Enabled slows things down!)
3. Make sure you set the queue size to 2000 candidates. If there is a hickup on the server, or you accidently hit "offline", you will not run out of candidates. (Running out of candidates is bad!)

Crunch away..

Got my answer from their forums:

Q: I have a lot of nodes, some not even active anymore. Can I condense those nodes into one so I have less overall, or can I delete them entirely?
A: No you can not condense or delete your nodes. You can only delete nodes with no results credited to them - but if they have any work credited to them they must stay. Look at it from the point that if 1,000 users each have a node with only one result returned to it, to each user it may seem insignificant, but to the project they still equal up to 1,000 completed candidates.

Did that as I can only connect at certain times with my work rig
Crunch away..
Doing that
