I feel like i am the only one gaming at 34'' 3440x1440 , how lonely am i ??
All the games and CPU reviews i see are for 1080p or 4k, nothing about 2k

I love the ultra wide screen honestly.

Ultrawide is definitely an uber-niche, with 16:9 resolutions being by far the most common (especially 1920x1080).

Moving away from 16:9/1080/60hz almost immediately reduces you to a fraction of the total hardware pool. Pile multiples on top of each other and you're a fraction of a fraction...

Been doin it since January. There are Scaling issues with may Games and Video Players, but when it is supported it is pretty nice.

I've been gaming on 2K since 2009 but I'm using a 2560X1440 (27"?) monitor. I don't normally worry about reviews for my resolution because if I see my specs can handle 1080 and work well with 4K, I know I'm good.

I also play on 3440x1440. I wouldn't go back either. Recently I finished watchdogs on pc and it didn't have proper native FOV. But there's apps like ultrawidify that will have fixes for older titles.

Watch dogs 2 runs like crap on my system which I guess from my research seems to be on par with Ubisoft pc titles and bad optimization.

I love ultrawide for productivity too. I'd like to go 4k but I can't find anything that's not too big and last I checked ultrawide for an actual 4k resolution is not a thing.

Dell AW3418 (alienware) not sure if it's still available, Dell offer a new version, the 3420 with native 120hertz screen. the 3418 has a 100 native screen, overclockable to 120 which i did.

Whatever you buy right now make sure it's g sync compatible and also supporters freesync. I believe the Dell 3418 is gsync only which is what I have. The newer 3420 looks like it could be gsync compatible as I saw someone had it and used freesync on it with an amd card.

I used to game mostly with 3x1080p sets 5760x1080, but, was taking up too much room, hated the bezels, annoyed by lack of verticle resolution, and further annoyed by all the games that didnt support it at all.

3440x1440 seemed like a logical step to pretty much improve all my woes. Also, folks over on AT Monitor forum were happy with theirs ...

Ahh, im running an R9 Fury that Somebody on FS/FT sold for a good price. I bought 2 of them, and had them running crossfire for a while, but, had issues so i took the second card out and stuck it in another PC.

Its a bit sluggish for new games at 3440x1440, but, if I lower some settings down, its smooth enough for me and I dont feel the urge to replace it.

Im using Freesync here, but, usually not getting more than like 60ish fps.
