It's great bringing a smart phone on a plane and turning on GPS. I don't think you're suppose to turn that on though, I only did it to get the screenshot.

Yeah that seems about right, was on the way from Timmins to Thunder Bay but connecting flight was in Toronto. Makes zero sense geographically but Toronto is pretty much the main hub.

That was fun actually, not often I get to go in a plane. Was a company paid trip.

Turning on GPS on a plane should be fine. You're receiving signals not sending them.

You would need a 50,000 watt transmitter to even deviate the CDI if it even did. They even allow WIFI FFS. It's just a stupid precaution. No MP3 player, phone or laptop has brought down a plane. Maybe a Lithium ion battery in the cargo hold.

Yeah I doubt it would do anything but you know how laws/rules can be weird.

I was told to put my phone away when taking video as well. Wanted to get a view of the landing gear coming out and then the touch down.

During another plane ride I did manage to sneak a landing gear shot as it hit the runway though.



That was an exciting day, was my first time on a plane.
